Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: wysiwyg Date: 20 Jan 06 - 02:48 PM Like most posters, I didn't bother to read all of the first post (and certainly NOT the old thread), especially due to the lack of paragraph breaks. Anyway,in case it doesn't mention, add a few Catters to pray about it and then a few more to pray for the rest of it. :~) And a few more to protest prayer as a plot. Etceterally yours, ~Susan |

Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Dave (the ancient mariner) Date: 20 Jan 06 - 03:24 PM Well Old Guy you know the controversy over the fact that the Light Bulb manufacturing Company just started building a factory in Texas; and that GWB and family own the najority of shares in it. Right now Ted Kennedy is telling the media that they make sub standard light bulbs and make a huge profit on replacements. They also use more power than regular bilbs, and thats to support the oil companies. All we need now is to dig up the dirt on the predominantly Mormon/Evangelical Christian managment hiring practises and we should get a good thread going here... Yours, Aye. Dave |

Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Janie Date: 20 Jan 06 - 05:28 PM A bunch of Mudcatters worked at the same factory. One of them, Giok, was a little soft in the head. One afternoon the foreman walked through, looked up at the rafters and noticed Giok was up there with his knees hooked over a beam, hanging upside-down. "What in tarnation do you think you're doing up there?" exclaimed the foreman. "Get down from there right now or you're fired!" "I'm a lightbulb," asserted Giok. "Lightbulb my *ss," shouted the foreman, "You've got 1 minute to get back down here and get to work." Giok just kept hanging there, looking down at the man. The foreman looked at his watch and counted down the seconds to one minute. "That's it." He said. "Get down from there, get your things and get out. You are out of a job as of now." Giok climbed down from the rafters and headed for his locker. Much to the forman's surprise, all the other Mudcatters stopped what they were doing, and followed Giok out. "Wait! Stop! Where do the rest of you think you're going. Get back to machines and quit wasting production time." The 'Catters just kept walking as the foreman fumed and fussed. "I don't understand why the rest of you are walking out. You can see he wasn't doing his job!" As the Mudcat crew walked out the door, one of them turned to the foreman and said "What did you think would happen? Surely you didn't expect us all to keep working in the dark!" (ok, ok...I'll leave.....Janie) |

Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Dead Horse Date: 20 Jan 06 - 07:30 PM How much candle power does my candle emit if it is one of those big ones that weighs approximately 10 times the weight of one of those ordinary ones you get in the hardware shop? Or should I use one of those special ones that kill mosquitos? Or not? Eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Peace Date: 20 Jan 06 - 07:32 PM Absolutely! |
Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: frogprince Date: 20 Jan 06 - 07:34 PM Any candle will kill a mosquito, if you watch for the mosquito to land and you can swing the candle fast enough. |
Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Peace Date: 20 Jan 06 - 07:40 PM Light a candle. When the mosquito comes near, take a can of Raid and spray the little b###ard. When it falls to the floor, squish it with your foot. Then, using the ball end of a metalwork hammer, swat it a few more times until it blends into the carpet. Then blow the candle out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Forum members changing a light bulb From: Don Firth Date: 20 Jan 06 - 07:56 PM And then the mosquito regains consciousness a few hours later while you are asleep, limps over to your bed, crawls up onto it, then onto you. Since it can't fly anymore, there is no warning high-pitched whine to alert you of its presence. It inserts its siphon into your jugular vein, drains you until you lay there dried out and wrinkled like a raisin as it limps off, sloshing and gurgle (and snickering) over the horizon. Damned things are hard to kill! Don Firth |
