I just discovered that I need to renew my Canadian passport for a trip to the Caribbean in early March...the old one is expired...but they tell me it may take 6 weeks to hear back after submitting the application. Does anyone know if there's a way to speed it up? A legal way, I mean...

Where do you live? If you can get to the passport office you can certainly move the process along. Why did your passport 'suddenly' need to be renewed? ;o)

I dealt with this one last year I went to the MPP's office and explained that I needed to get my passport to cross the Ontario/New York boarder to get to the Buffalo Bills games. They required a request in writing explaining my need and Photocopies of the Buffalo Bills Tickets as proof of the dates of travel. The MPP's office sent in the request and I had the pasport within a week!

I simply didn't realize that the old one had expired, that's all. It expired about six months ago, so now I'm a bit pressed for time to get a new one. Thanks, Raptor, I'll go to my local MPP's office and get help with this.

Before I could hit the "NO! Don't submit that. I fucked up royally!!" button, it got submitted. Of course, even though it's not for hockey, it is for Yankee football. In the same sense, it is "Canuck".

How fast do you want your Canadian passport to go? Have you checked the carburetor? Sometimes a gummed up carburetor will slow down a Passport.
