Look man, Chongo Chimp has the highest rating of the Chicago Bar Association. Big deal. Being able to down the most whisky and sodas per hour and remain standing is not a recommendation of good character or judgement.

Other than that, ask me if I care about Kerry's filibuster. Or Sam Alito.

Kerry's just doing his job, which is to bash Republicans. And Tarheel's doing his, which is to bash liberals.

One question, though. Has any filibuster ever actually prevented legislation from going through? Or has it just delayed it?

Kerry is wasting tactics, ammunition and energy. I also wonder if Alito won't turn out like Earl Warren, who Eisenhower put in the bench because he considered Warren a conservative.

Any filibuster or "NO" vote will simply be a historical note so that when Alito proves to be the predictable pawn...um..'voice' of the conservatives we suspect, history will at least remember who said "no!".

Alito has the highest rating of the American Bar Association.

Looks to me like an extremely intelligent person for the job.

One who has plainly said that he will interpet the law to the best of his ability.
