Subject: BS: abnormally sited artery, got one? From: Big Al Whittle Date: 10 Feb 06 - 07:43 PM I was diagnosed with one mid last year. Abnormally sited artery into the back of the heart, giving inadequate supply to something or other. After nearly two years of prodding about. they found it by sending a radioactive thing through my bloodstream. Last year I cut down on work. This year I have stopped work and I am trying to lose weight. Last year they said it was too dangerous to operate - now they seem quite hot to trot. Anybody else got one, know about these things. Know of a website where someone might know about stuff like this, and more importantly how it lives....? Doctors (when not actually contradicting each other)have a circuitous way of expressing themselves and I get confused. best wishes al |

Subject: RE: BS: abnormally sited artery, got one? From: Janie Date: 10 Feb 06 - 08:05 PM Don;t know if this will be helpful, but I found this , which may lead to more links. I googled abnormal artery cardiac, and gjot a list of several sites that might be helpful, depending on what your condition possible is. Good luck with it. I can tell from posts to the poverty thread you a man with a big heart. Janie |

Subject: RE: BS: abnormally sited artery, got one? From: katlaughing Date: 10 Feb 06 - 11:19 PM They figured it was too dangerous to do anything to keep Spaw ticking a few years ago, too. Lucky for us, he found a surgeon who was the most experienced using a new robotic surgical system called the Da Vinci and it saved his life. IT's now beocming more commonplace. Our local hospital got one about 5 months after my open-heart surgery last May. Don't beat yourself up over the losing weight; it can be tough when you don't have enough of the good stuff circulating in order to exercise. Once they fix it, I think you'll be amazed at how much you can do and how much better you feel. Good thoughts and {{{{HUGS}}}}, kat |
