Here's a puzzle I'm getting nowhere with, can you help?
If you know the answer a clue would be a help.
It involves a six letter word -the clues are as folows
124 is worn
4215 is about 30"
1234 is often wet
as is 652
what is the word?
I dont know if the clues are cryptic,

You asked for a clue rather than the answer, so here is my suggestion:

If you substitute a letter for each number, using a synonym for "stride" in line 2, then you can guess numbers 3 and 6. You can then make an anagram of the six letters. I got half a dozen possible 6-letter words out of this.

If there is a definitive answer then I suppose I should continue to guess the last two letters until only one solution is available.

I get 2 possibles, one beginning with 3, the other with 6

The answer isn't an anagram at all. It's in the order 123456

and 2 is PACE
3 is CARP
4 is TEA

And 123456 must be CARPET

How long do you suppose people were going to hem and haw around before someone spelled it out? It's a little silly to get upset about someone answering it in a public forum.
