A brief but heartfelt review of our own Bobert's CD: if you love Mississippi blues, with the twanging steel slide and the heart-broken roadhouse dust and sorrow all through it, you will love Bobert's CD. This man knows how to make it moan.

This is not a CD for Kingston Trio fans; it is a CD for those who love the blues. Bobert does blues right.

"twanging steel slide" ...So that what that guitar sound is called.
All I know is it really sounds good.

I don't know much about blues. But I know what I like. And I like Bobert's CD.

"Bobert does blues right".
Amen to that!

Hey Bobert!

Congrats! It was so GOOD that they released it a Day Early! CDBABY has it on-line and they are OPEN FOR BIDNESS!

From the samples on the CDBABY site, the recording quality and mixing is purty darn good. I love Dylan's "She Belongs to Me"! The recordings may not be for the faint of heart, but they are Great Solid Blues. Hell they even seem to be a little restrained from what I have seen you play live when the Mojo gets working.

When I hear the tunes the first thing it does is makes me want to play! Dag Nab It! When we getting together again?

Should we order through CDBABY to help you get "Props" with them?

Fair enough Janie; but this CD is for the blues side, not the striped-shirt, bow-tie and after-shave version!! :D

****Rating; bona fide, down & dirty blues. Should be eligible for a grammy for "best sound restoration on a 1926 blues recording".

Amos, I am trying to figure out where you get the Bowtie-Kingston Trio theme. Have you ever seen the Kingston Trio in Bowties? I absolutely love Kingston Trio and Bobert's Blues as well. Plus lots of other musical genre. There are actually lots of people who have more than one-track musical tastes.

Wal, good enough. Substitute Limelighters, then!! LOL

Gawd forbid I should step on anyone's purdy icons er anything!! :D I thought the point I was making was clear enough, but perhaps iI should have said "This CD is not for someone looking for over-processed, pre-dogested, or prettified products in the manner of the Kingston Trio, the Limelighters, or the Yale Glee Club."

Well, thankee all fir them kind words, ahhhh, except GUEST who is prolly Martin musican-wantabee Gibson but nevermind that.... Guest apparently never heard or heard of Fred McDowell if he thinks tha fret marks ain't part of North Mississippi hilstomp blues but, hey....

Now I realize that most everyone who wanted a CD went thru me but fir those of you who haven't ordered yours please go to CVD Baby and take 5 minutes to do so... As it stands more have been orderd from CD Baby from Europe than from the States and I now realize I shouldn't have made it so easy to get um from me as 50 went out in the firast few days... Now it's time fir any Catters who didn't order frrom me to take a couple minutes over at CD Baby....

PLLLLEEEEEAAAAAZZZZEEEEEEE!!!!!!

And thankee.... You won't regret it... Folks who have it allready have sent me lots of emails and the most common thought is that this CD really grows on ya'... Even Daniel "Rev. Slick" Ballanger who is the hottest up 'n comin' bluesman in the country says she has played it over and over and loves it!!!

So, howz 'bout hitting CD Baby???

Thankee...

Sidewalk "Bobert" Bob

I've been out of touch for a while and just learned that this anxiously-awaited CD is now available. I'll order mine thru CDBaby, since that would seem to be best for Bobert ~ right?

One very minor complaint: I had really hoped to hear Bob's down-and-dirty blues rendition of the great Donovan song "Season of the Witch." Maybe on the next album???

Dang. I was so busy playing and enjoying your CD, Bo, that I forgot to tell anyone else about it!

Yes! It's a great album: great songs, great treatment, great delivery... I've listened to it now, I think, five times, and I'm not done with it yet. I've told two friends who sing blues about it, and I'm going to order another one from cdbaby for the one, or maybe I'll get two of them. Mike will be crestfallen if I get one for Buddy and none for him...

Great job, Bobert.

Ebbie

Yo, P-Gator.... "Season of the Witch" is allready recorded and after I get this one paid for I'll have a little credibility with my comptroller (the P-Vine) and it will sho nuff be on the next one...

And thankee, Ebbie... It'd be nice to get it selling in the States and get some reviews up on CD Baby which will help it sell even more... So far it it doing very well in France, of all places???

I don't know if you have to have bopught the CD from CD Baby in order to write a review or not, Eb, but if you do and you order one or more copies, please write a review fir it over there...

Okay???

Thankee to all...

Bobert

Received my copy in the mail today and am on my first listen through. Great slide guitar work throughout, evoking that down home Mississippi Delta blues sound. Bravo Bob, job well done.

Got mine Friday, but didn't get to give it a listen till yesterday, due to St. Paddy's weekend commitments. I played it twice through yesterday. Nice job, Bobert! Good stuff. Soulfull blues straight up and honest. I'm gonna enjoy this one for a log time.

Thanks for letting me help out with the package.
