Subject: BS: Obit- Bob Carlos Clark From: Flash Company Date: 31 Mar 06 - 03:52 AM Bob Carlos Clark, the fashion and glamour photographer died at the weekend in tragic circumstances. Apparently he had been suffering from clinical depression for some time, and his wife finally managed to persuade him to look for treatment. He booked into The Priory, and was recognised as a suicide risk. In spite of this he was allowed to walk out unsupervised on Saturday, and promptly made his way to the local railway crossing and stepped under a train in front of about 40 witnesses. Photography has always been one of my interests, and I remember the impact of Bob's stark black & white glamour images. Hind-sight is easy, but I suppose that there was always a dark edge to his work, maybe the end has been building up for longer than we realise. 56 years old! R.I.P. FC |
Subject: RE: BS: Obit- Bob Carlos Clark From: SunnySister Date: 31 Mar 06 - 01:26 PM I'm sorry to hear about this. How very difficult for his wife, family and those 40 witnesses. Sometimes it is hard to see where an artist's creative spark comes from- a connection with their joy, their curiosity, or their pain. --SunnySister |
