The website still has a provisional programme, only the artists appearing in each evening concert.
Promises of workshops, sessions, singarounds but no details or times at all.
Does anyone know anything?
It is an hours drive from us so we'd like to know what time it starts.
And what are the workshops, do I need to take my clogs, or a crumhorn or a hat to make an Easter bonnet?
I understand that one of the organisers is in hospital, which may explain lack of detail on website but someone must know, or even be running part of it. So maybe we can piece it together.
Thanks

Hiya Mo!

Poynton's a bit expensive for me - but then I'm more of a sessioner than concert goer.

We're all off to the Peak District for Easter w/end.

Loads o' folkin' about for only £1.50 per night on the campsite.

its only a stone's throw from Poynton, why not come along & join the fun there instead?

Webmaster speaking...

I guess you just turn up, buy a programme, and take your pick...

Tickets and further information available from the ticket office: 01538 483741

There's a concert in the Main Hall from 7:30pm Friday... things get going on Saturday from 10:00 with Folkus workshops and stuff at Woodford British Legion, the Davenport Arms and the Scout Hut. Afternoon and evening ceilidhs are in the Scout Hut, too.

Saturday afternoon concert in the small hall from 2:00pm (includes me), and 7:30pm Saturday is the second main concert.

Sunday follows a similar pattern, with the songwriting competition from 2:00pm in the British Legion. Judges are Alan Bell, Mick Peat, Judy Hancock (of Sad Pig) and me.

Sorry, folks, but I've been asked not to put details of who's on when on the website... there are printed programmes available, you see...

I understand what you mean, though - I only discovered the other day that I was doing a spot in the Small Hall from 2:30 to 3:15 on Saturday afternoon...!!

Thanks.
The turn up and buy a programme approach is fine for people who are coming for the weekend but the website doesn't even tell you where to get one from in advance.
Give us a clue Focus workshops about what? might be an instrument one of us plays.

I often think that festivals could do more to make folk accessible to local people. This needs good information about whats on and tickets available for single items for people not willing or able to commit a whole day. It seems its hard to get both, Chester has its programme up already (for May 26th) but you can't buy a ticket for a single event (not easy with the maquee, but maybe you could change by the hour and give refunds when you leave?), Poyton offers indivdual pay-on-the-doors, but you can't find out what for.

I know that the first concern of festivals is their season ticket buyers and that you all do a good job for love and get all the flak.
But maybe the committee should think about putting the programme on the website another year.

You see we were thinling of coming for one day, and an hours drive to get a programme to decide which day is a bit much

First of all, let's be clear... I'm not one of the festival organisers, I'm one of the booked guests. They were stuck for someone to put together a website, as the previous webmaster isn't doing it this year.

However, there ARE contact details on the site for booking information, which I'd guess is also valid for programmes, etc...

Box Office Postal Address:
'Cranford'
London Road North
Poynton
Cheshire
SK12 1BX
Tel: +44 (0)1625 872539

For more information, contact:
Dave Hughes
Tel: +44 (0)1625 430149

These details are prominent on the home page of the site.

Yes, thanks. I wasn't sniping at you or anyone.
As I said, Volunteers do good work, just a suggestion for next year.
I did try the phone no. and got an answerphone message, a phone no is a very inefficient way for busy people to give out information when a website can tell everyone at the same time
