Subject: BS: Atlanta/Marietta May 26th '06 From: MMario Date: 14 Apr 06 - 11:38 AM Anything going on that might be interesting? My nephew graduates that day and I will be visiting - but there might not be a seat for me at the graduation (they haven't announced how many tickets per senior yet - and usually it is limited seating) |

Subject: RE: BS: Atlanta/Marietta May 26th '06 From: Wesley S Date: 14 Apr 06 - 12:17 PM Try checking out www.maplestreetguitars.com - it's a nice little guitar shop close to the Lennox Mall north of downtown. I'll contact by brother { Mudcatter Ironmule } to see if he has any links to stuff going on there. |

Subject: RE: BS: Atlanta/Marietta May 26th '06 From: CarolC Date: 14 Apr 06 - 01:18 PM I think Frank Hamilton lives in one of the Atlanta Suburbs, MMario. Maybe you should send him a PM. I'm not sure what screen name he uses now, but it used to be Frankham. I'm sure someone around here knows how to get in touch with him though... maybe Art Theime. We don't live down that way any more. We moved to North Carolina in February. Talk about bad timing! Sorry we'll miss you. If you're looking for a good place to eat, Buckhead (the suburb... not the town) has some really good restaurants (and a Whole Foods and a World Store... great teas and coffees from around the world in those stores). |

Subject: RE: BS: Atlanta/Marietta May 26th '06 From: LilyFestre Date: 14 Apr 06 - 08:23 PM That little guitar shop near the Lenox Mall is going to be really expensive (but probably lots of fun to check out) because it's in the Buckhead neck of the woods. Mmario, will you have access to a car? If you do (or even if you don't, MARTA is incredibly efficient), Stone Mountain Stone Mountain (not far from where you will be)is a neat place, as is the Coca-Cola museum Coca-Cola Museum Fun (thought it would be really boring but it was actually interesting)..that's right downtown with a train stop at for the Underground. There's the Martin Luther King Jr. Center The King Center that's interesting (not far from the Coca-Cola museum by train...maybe 3 stops or so....but it is NOT in a good neighborhood) and if you have a car or can find your way there by bus, hit The Varsity Ya gotta stop here!!!...it's just a classic thing to do while you're in Atlanta! It's right off I-85. I've been to the Renaissance Festival in Atlanta (ok..just outside Atlanta) and had THE BEST time!!!!! I know you will too! Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: Atlanta/Marietta May 26th '06 From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 14 Apr 06 - 09:17 PM Yeah, that Renaissance Festival's held in Fairburn which is the next little town south of Union City where my step-daughter and family lived until recently. I wouldn't suggest going to either Fairburn or Union City for excitement on Friday night though, unless you're into watching freight trains go by or something. Truth of the matter is that as much time as I spend in Atlanta and environs I don't know diddley about where to go for fun. I'm usually there selling pottery at art festivals and that doesn't leave a lot of time for leisure activities. |
