Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 27 May 06 - 08:18 AM Er...I meant looking forward to the Folk Club, just in case my post was ambiguous...I really don't know Zebedee that well |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 27 May 06 - 09:08 AM Unfortunately Zebedee won't be there, as he can't get off the Magic Roundabout. I am glad you explained yourself there Rockhen :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 28 May 06 - 04:46 AM Howver, what is more inportant, is Tim The Twangler going to be there with his lepricorn hat :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 28 May 06 - 05:16 AM It wasn't even his, you know! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 28 May 06 - 06:38 AM What, not his!!! What a bounder. I suppose he stole it off a young lad then!!! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 28 May 06 - 07:54 AM Yep...IT was the whistling Wild Wolds Woman's poor defenceless son's hat |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 28 May 06 - 08:20 AM I hope he is going to explain :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 28 May 06 - 12:54 PM Explain? I was forced to wear the damned thing is great big thing made of foam and is about three hudred degrees C inside it. How do you know about it? Next thing you know will be high heels and a flowery skirt. I make no predictions re attendnce on friday as the las several times have been disasterous and now my shift pattern has altered for a short while so that I am at work 0001 saturday for the next few months. However this does mean that I could make it to the Gainsbro Folk club occasionaly where no doubt I will be regailled with information re tuning guitars and how to get the best wear out of Bodrhan skins and mandolin strings. However I am sure it will be a superb evening at Faldingworth on friday. I hear Rockhen is going to supply the beer mats for the occasion. and isnt there a Saturday concert coming up soon? |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 28 May 06 - 01:02 PM I saw a picture of you in that hat Tim. It was in the Market Rasen Mail. Yes, there is an excellent evening on Saturday June 10th at Faldingworth Village Hall. Anthony John Clarke will be in Concert. Not to be missed. Great singaround afterwards. All for the measerly price of £5. Well that seems to have blown your floorspot at MRFC to smithereens then. Make that tight fisted company get somebody else to do it. You know your path to singing fame is more important :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 28 May 06 - 02:00 PM Floor spot ? You that hard up for performers? I think not. I can do early spot if you get desperate but have to hit the road by ten I am afraid. Any way gotta dash got warm beer waiting at the carnival. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 28 May 06 - 02:31 PM What Carnival? |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 28 May 06 - 07:47 PM Twangy is already a famous name in the townie circuit...I don't think he needs to worry about his path to fame, lol! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 28 May 06 - 08:25 PM Gotta go see Martyn Joseph at the Carnival in Barton. He not to bad either. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 29 May 06 - 12:49 PM I think I will nip up to Cleethorpes tonight for the concert. Can't let Tim get all the pleasures :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: the fence Date: 29 May 06 - 06:08 PM See you there Les!!! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 29 May 06 - 08:33 PM Didn't see you at leethorpes Phil. It was a cracking evening. Saw Mr & Mrs Sooz. Hope the dog is OK Mike & Sue. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 30 May 06 - 12:09 PM I wain't be there. Unfortunately the good burghers of Bawtry require my talents at the Phoenix Theatre. S:0) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 30 May 06 - 01:29 PM I saw that Strollin'. Have a good en. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 31 May 06 - 04:00 AM Well the scarecrows are girding their loins and should be fully operational for Friday. If you were coming to the folk club on Friday as a scarecrow, what would you come as and why? |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 31 May 06 - 02:50 PM If I was comeing dressed as a scarecrow I guess I would Look like I was an effigy of some sort designed for the purpose of protecting a crop from the ravages of a flock of feeding birds. This would be because thats what scarecrows are and I wanted to pass your entrance exam. Though would have thought it better to just pay as we usualy do. Thus allowing easy access and raising money to allow the club to continue into the future Have you thought how long it will take you or someone else to check on the answers to your questions at the door? Or would it be allowable to write out the answers on a postcard and hand that in? Then you could go around throwing out the ones who got it wrong at half time. Have you given any thought to maybe having multiple choice entry exams? LoL |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 31 May 06 - 07:24 PM Hey don't make it difficult for people to get in...we want a big audience so we can pretend we are popular and the punters are there solely to hear Helian Keys, not anyone else...what do you mean they are coming to see the other acts ...eh? oh...and our spot is a fag and toilet break? .....that isn't very nice of you all!!! No call for that at all... hey Villan...am I allowed to mention that we have a cd single (3 tracks) of a brand new Helian Keys song, for sale at the very reasonable price of £1.50 and we will be bringing 300 with us on Friday??? I am not allowed to mention it? Oh, ok then, I won't :-( |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 31 May 06 - 07:39 PM You passed the test Twangy :-) Of course you can mention your CD Rockhen :-) Just back from seing Miranda Sykes & Jenny Crooks at Cottingham Live. It was very enjoyable. Two excellent voices. Both could play guitar, and Jenny played scintilating harp and Miranda played scintillating Double Bass. Met up with Linda & Hazel (Hissyfit). The car parks will be available as normal on Friday night. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 31 May 06 - 07:54 PM Er....was there something significant about the car park being available? Did you mean for parking? Did I miss something somewhere?! The gig sounded good, Villan...you don't hear many harp players these days. I used to like the Poozies but haven't seen them for ages. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 31 May 06 - 08:05 PM When the scarecrow exhibition is on, sometimes the village hall car park is not available. However Friday is OK, but on Saturday evening for the Ceilidh, the village hall car park is not available, but the car parks by the school are still available. I haven't seen the poozies, but wouldn't mind seing them. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rockhen Date: 01 Jun 06 - 12:13 PM Phew...glad you cleared that confusion up! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 01 Jun 06 - 01:39 PM Slight change to the line up for tomorrow night. Tina Taylor has a bad cold which has affected her voice, and we felt that it would be better not to do the floorspot. Thanks for letting me know Tina. So The line up is as follows Dick Appleton Stitherum Big Al Whittle Interval Helian Keys Gwenda & Terry Cater Once again, my thanks go to Mike & Sue for stepping in at the last minute. What would I do without them :-) Roll on tomorra night. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 01 Jun 06 - 11:37 PM Hey that is a heck of a line up! Go on How much is it? I bet is gonna cost a small fortune to get in. Most places would be charging at least £10 a head. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 02 Jun 06 - 12:56 AM To you kind sir £3 a head. I agree, its an excellent line up for the start of the Scarecrow Exhibiton. Its a shame you are having to do all these unsociable hours at work :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Sooz Date: 02 Jun 06 - 10:01 AM Do scarecrows get in free? |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 02 Jun 06 - 11:08 AM Yes, providing they can't talk or walk. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday 2ndJune06 From: Rasener Date: 03 Jun 06 - 03:41 AM Many thanks to those who turned out last night to see once again an excellent and varied night of music. We all got to see Mrs Sooz's new baby, Malcolm the Scarecrow Morris Dancer. What a great job Mrs Sooz did. And so the session at Faldingworth today (Saturday) at Brownlows Antiques from 2 to 5. Then the Ceilidh tonight (Saturday) at Faldingworth Village Hall with Higgledy Piggledy. |
