Why isn't anyone talking to you? I've got a great joke, but its far too rude to print - ask Breezy if you see him - the one about the man in the hospital, went down well at Bodmin apparently!

Hi Ross

Don't know If I can make Wednesday - band is threatening to practice but I won't know til Tuesday(Aimee Mann's old Band Check out "the other end of the telecope").

I did speak about the band playing down there some time but hadn't arranged anything yet - Donna needs childminding facilities.

See you soon

John

Sunday 11th Dan Mckinnon
the man who sings Stan Rogers as good as the late Stan himself and now plays with Curly Boy Stubbs and Grit Laskins, Stans original musicians.

at the Comfort Hotel, Holywell Hill, St Albans

Dan is being tipped to be the next major overseas folk singer as he is being associated with the Jacey Bedford agency!!

Dan has just been very well received in the West country

My goodness! What a build up this man has been getting.

I am selling 'Dan's the Man' T-shirts on Holywell Hill on Sunday afternoon. Buy 2 and you get a pair of 'Ross is the Boss' underpants for free.

Wow - are they boxers or Y fronts

Dan is good - I'd give him a commendation - I thought the Queen was the only one that got received

Are Canada in the World cup? - group Q with Luton, the Beverley Sisters and the Plague

Not sure why nobody's talking to me - I always try to buy anyone a drink who's at the bar with me and looks dry

Cheers Hitchin John - it'll be quiet without you

It's an open sort of mic this week - maybe without a mic.

Happy Monday everyone

It's a folk week everyone - Wednesday

Barton celebrated England's victory Saturday night with a mini riot

We had police cars, riot vans, armed police, dogs and the accused being sat on in the middle of the road - doesn't football just bring out the best in us

And there were traffic delays in Luton yesterday due to a Festival of Transport

I got a sticker, a signed picture, surveyed new candidates to replace Mark AND booked Jools Holland to come to the Bull next week.

ps selling stickers and badges on Wednesday with unsold 'Ross is Boss' underpants as giveaways. All small, did a run on the larger sizes in St Albans.

It was in the Sun Newspaper - so it must be true

Evidently the heavy gases we are putting into the atmosphere are all balanced on our heads and this increases our gravity potential; thus increasing pounds thrust per square inch; to increase modularly with the Newton down force equation something fart

Did you know exhaust fumes from domestic animals are a large contributor to greenhouse gases

I hope that has illuminates you young Hen

Yes thank you, I had a super smashin time with Dan and George and Breezy. George and John did a very nice 'duet' and although they were kind of new to up here in the frozen north, they went down very well. They may be asked to return. Can sleepy old Worcestershire cope with that!

Why would my cockerel have gone to college? Old foxy may have, he'll wish he'd stayed there when I catch hold of him - ooppps sorry we're not allowed to do that any more, are we!!.

I'll return it on 28th. Sorry I didn't spot it before I left.

Want to be you like you hoo hoo

message from Theo:

The last monthly ceilidh at Hitchin Town Hall before the summer recess is on Friday 30th June with GRAND UNION – traditional English dance music at its very best! Renowned for the lift in their playing, with cracking tunes based in their native English tradition, the band plays exceptionally danceable music; a Grand Night Out will be guaranteed.

'Grand Union are definitely one of my favourite bands to call with. They have a wide repertoire of great English tunes which they play with skill and verve. The excellent twin fiddle and melodeon lead is backed by some terrific banjo and double bass...all driven along by precise and powerful percussion. They are wonderful to dance to and a genuine pleasure to work with. Very highly recommended.' - Dave Hunt

For more information on the band see http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/grandunion

Caller for the evening is BARRY GOODMAN – one of this area's finest callers, and a great favourite amongst Hitchin's dancers.

Our interval entertainment (to give you a breather and a chance to buy a pint or two from the Real Ale bar) are The Letchworth Morris Men – performing a selection of virile and stylish Cotswold dances from the Adderbury, Oddington and Badby traditions.
More Information from 01582 733113 / 724261 or visit www.unicornceilidhs.org.uk

See you there
