Australian Prime Minister John Howard has led calls for the reality TV show to be taken off the air after Michael "Ash" Cox, 20, and Michael Brice, 21, were marched from the house by police.

Big Brother v Big Brother.

The fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square is still vacant. How about a statue of Nikki making one of her faces?

Or perhaps a bust of Leah?

Well, even Little Johnny has said that since the television industry wants to be self regulated, Channel 10 should regulate itself and 'take that stupid show off air'.

Channel 10 keeps saying that the guys did nothing 'wrong', but also keeps saying that the two guys were expelled for 'breaking the rules'... I'm confused... if they 'did nothing wrong', why were they expelled?

Incidentally, a couple of days before, the same girl had been told by BB that she had to kiss al the guys on the mouth within a certain time - apparently some authorities claim that the forcing of an unwanted kiss is 'sexual assault'.

And the lone member in Parliament (who holds the balance of power) of The Family First Party has said that such behaviour televised into the home influences the young to think that such contrived behaviour is 'normal'.

So now all the competing commercial TV stations have aired the footage - it took place at 3 am in the morning, broadcast live only via the web site, and it shows the giggling lady accepting an invitation into the bed shared by the two guys, and receiving a 'turkey slap' from one of the guys...

You don't know what that is? I ain't gonna say, but here's a hint...

"gobble, gobble"...

even shut down the show, as it 'puts people under pressure to behave in a bad manner for reward'

Are they proposing to put an end to all employment - for the same reason?

These shows are just a mirror - and often we don't like the image we see reflected back at us.

You can break all the mirrors but - unless you take steps to change it - the image will remain the same.

Channel 10 has agreed to not replay the particular footage, a copy of which has been handed to the Police.

"No charges have yet been laid - Police say no complaint has yet been lodged."

Still no change there.

And now the Pollies have jumped in - since the QLD Govt gives a substantial cash incentive to the makers (making jobs you know!), there is now much pressure to cease that, and even shut down the show, as it 'puts people under pressure to behave in a bad manner for reward'.

Lea (she must be a total dimmock, can't even spell a simple name like Leah properly) seems to be a complete nutcase. Doesn't she hear the words she speaks? She says something to one person, and then immediately denies to another that she ever said it. Nutty as a fruitcake.

And as for The Wide-Mouthed Frog - words fail me (although they seldom fail her, the gobby little twat).

Some of the quotes from past shows are funny as well as educational. For example, we do not appear to be teaching geography, or many other subjects very well.

This is one of the best from past winner Chantelle.

On George Galloway MP: 'He looks at us like we're stupid, scatty, uneducated girls. He's a right chauvinistic pig, whatever that means!'

Some of the best BB TV moments have come from watching heated arguments and grand sulks taking place whilst the housemates are still dressed in their silly task or party costumes.

I still chuckle when I remember from a past show where Victor and Jason were very upset and plotting vicious revenge together but being totally oblivious of the effect of this coming from the two of them dressed up as and sitting about in full jolly clown make-up but with steam coming out of their ears.

There are always lessons for us all and the wider world to learn from such shows. Perhaps N.I and Middle East peace talks and other confrontations should be conducted only after all particpants have been to the 'dress-up' box?

Justice sues Jersey to keep telcos quiet

The U.S. government has sued the New Jersey Attorney General's office on grounds of security concerns to prevent it from asking telephone companies if they gave customer call records to the National Security Agency.
The Department of Justice wants to stop the disclosure of confidential and sensitive information, according to the lawsuit filed in Trenton, NJ, on Wednesday, a day before phone companies were due to reply to subpoenas issued by the New Jersey attorney general.
"Compliance with the subpoenas issued by those officers would first place the carriers in a position of having to confirm or deny the existence of information that cannot be confirmed or denied without causing exceptionally grave harm to national security," the lawsuit said.
New Jersey Attorney General Zulima Farber sent subpoenas to AT&T, Verizon Communications, Cingular Wireless, Sprint Nextel and Qwest Communications International on May 17, asking if they had cooperated with the NSA.
The suit charged that New Jersey's attorney general issued the subpoenas without proper authorization from the federal government. The lawsuit named AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Qwest and Cingular, a venture of AT&T and BellSouth, as defendants, as well as Farber and other New Jersey officials.
USA Today reported last month that AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth gave the NSA access to and turned over call data so it could secretly analyze calling patterns to detect terrorist plots. This provoked a host of lawsuits and objections from privacy advocates.
BellSouth has denied turning over information to the NSA, and Verizon has said that it does not provide the government with unfettered access to customer records.
AT&T has said it helps when asked by the government but only within the law. A lawyer for Qwest's former chief executive, Joe Nacchio, has said he refused government requests for information.

I have come to the conclusion that Big Brother is a win - win for everyone. The makers laugh all the way to the bank - the housemates get their moment of fame - those who watch are entertained and those who do not watch can sit back and judge everyone else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course my own darling children were perfect paragons of virtue..........!! (NOT!)

The thought of being on the show yourself or even worse of watching one's own children on the show is a real horror.

I am wondering what young disGraceful's proud mother is now thinking of the fine job she did in inflicting her 'delightful', lucky and priviliged daughter on the world?

At least young Nikki's ruthless lack of consideration for anyone else has some entertainment value. Grace's display and her effect on and use of others - was not funny to watch in any way.

Hey Foolestoupe - is that paint white or magnolia? Gloss or emulsion? I favour gloss to watch, it can form some interesting and attractive patterns if you've ladled it on too thickly and it forms dribbles.

Magnolia changes shade as it dries, so you know when it's done.... then you can apply the top coat of any other freakin' colour so long as it's not sodding magnolia!

(True story ~ my disabled mother had the external woodwork on her house decorated by the council - the workman said 'any colour you like just so long as it's not bloody magnolia; we've done 63 houses in this area and every single one of the buggers wanted magnolia! She chose babypoo green).
