Unlike Barbara Dickson who was successful at folk music and successfully moved onto pop. Big Edna was unsuccessful at pop, so tried again with folk music, what next ?

Remember Mike Whellans ? he kept switching ' codes ' but real success always evaded him.

I like Eddi and her singing. As to 'wanabee pop star', well, I imagine that most people would like that kind of fame and fortune. Why would Eddi be any different? I always reckon if you can't say something nice about someone, particularly on a congrats thread, it is better to keep out of it.

Having done it already, Eddi will probably never again be a pop star - she's got the wrong image, and she can actually sing. She's one of those truly talented people who can turn their hand to anything. She's one of Scotland's finest daughters, and a great ambassador (ambassadress?) for her country and it's traditions.

Congratulations Eddi, and keep up the good work.

and she was BRILL in the TV Drama series "You Cheatin Heart"(1990) (which also had an appearance of Guy Mitchell, Yeah THAT Guy Mitchell) in which she played Jolene Jowett and was part of a Country and Western duo with the incomparable Katy Murphy, about some dodgy dealings in the Scottish C and W scene many years ago for more info click here
