In my ever-present quest to alleviate treadmill boredom (now it's too blasted hot to run outside!), I found a website that will help me pass the time. Track Your Miles Across the Country I love the fact that they give you pictures of where you are going. How much more virtual can ya get? How about this: lemme know if you live near the route and I'll wave at your house when I streak by, eh? *bg*

All the scenery and not of the long faces. Get exercise dancing and views with this. Nice idea. I am unlikely to see that much of America. But as for virtual teams - not unless I can do a hornpipe step or a rant................

You can do any darn thing you like. My godson wants to see how far he can skip in a year. If he can skip, you can rant a country mile. *bg* I think it's a quirky idea, sure, but motivationally it's amazing. The thought of cruising the length of the country is pretty powerful.

On the plus side, I am noticing that they are increasingly beautiful pictures. I am of the mind that one might get more motivation to run if one were being chased by a tornado, or a grizzly bear, or even a photo of someone's near-rabid dog shooting up a driveway like in real life. However, I am trotting through Kentucky at the moment and my picture is corn for miles.

I just got a note in my e-mail that I have crossed the border from Kentucky to Illinois. Lovely country in photo, with none of the heat and thunderstorms.

Another notice in my e-mail today. I have entered the lovely state of Kansas. I got pegged as a 'virtual race partner' from some dude named Rob. I have noticed during the past month that this Rob character is a robot who is unstoppable. If anyone sees him on the road, take him down. (how's that for good sportswomanship?) *bg*
