Subject: RE: BS: Interesting Facts From: JohnInKansas Date: 19 Jul 06 - 01:19 AM The "human genome" which has recently been sequenced consists of a very long string of four molecules. If the molecules are "named" by binary numbers, 00, 01, 10, 11, the entire record of all the genetic information for a "typical human" can be written as a binary data record consisting of a long string of 01100101011... etc. Written as a single binary data string (also a perfectly acceptable concept) Windows XP is a longer string (i.e. contains more data) ... I've been told. The author who made the claim may have exaggerated, but I'm too lazy to check it out. Anyone sufficiently interested is welcome to look up the figures. John |
