This thread is started as a dumping ground. When you feel the overwhelming urge to post to a thread that about a subject that has repeatedly been beaten into the ground, only to arise from the ashes, waste your post here instead.

We all talk about resisting the urge to post to irritating threads that lead nowhere, and yet we all give in. So, if you see a thread that has endless cut and pastes in it and you can't control yourself, dump on me.

I can handle it.

Lovely day we're having, isn't it?

I always hate it when my buttons get pushed, the worst part is knowing you are reacting to a butoon-pushing and you react anyway.

For language does its own thing, and one of the things that it always does is change with usage. Posting against that is shoveling shit against the tide. Jerry you're a veritable King Canute.

Jerry is like a lot of Mudcat members, who believe they should be able to control the way other people behave.

I know, I KNOW. Jerry has blessedly Christian good intentions. He wants to End Chat Forum Strife. He, like many people who get sucked into arguing on threads, doesn't like arguing.

Yet, he also cannot resist intervening, whether in the thread that pissed him off enough to start THIS thread (I call these 'antidote' threads) or in this one.

You see, this is the exact behavior that makes this place a flame war and trollers paradise.

Funny thing about reinventing the wheel. I've spent my whole life doing that. I'll learn something the hard way and think to myself, "I'll never do THAAAAT again!" Sooner or later, I do. It's not so much that I am a slow learner. I'm just a fast forgetter..

Actually, there are people successfully reinventing the wheel all the time...

The Beach Trekker is a specially designed track wheel fitted to a wheelchair that allows people with disabilities to be transported by a carer over dry, soft and wet sand and then directly into the water at a beach.
