This committee was in a quandary as to where to place the statue, says the letter. It was not wise to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, nor beside Lyndon Johnson, who never told the truth, since Bill Clinton could never tell the difference.

"We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Democrat of all. He left not knowing where he was going, did not know where he was, returned not knowing where he had been and did it all on borrowed money."

I prefer the caption I saw recently of a photo of Colin Powell, Bush and Cheney.

Under Colin Powell--Think No Evil

Under Bush--- Think No

Under Cheney--- Evil

Old. Very old. This is an equal opportunity joke, and can be told about any political figure, no matter what party affiliation.

But it's so OLD!

I believe a variation of it was told about Alexander the So-So, way back.

It's really OLD!

Frankly, I think it fits the Republicans better:

Bush started a war not knowing where it was going, doesn't know geography so he does not know where he is, has not been able to return because he doesn't know where he has been and is doing it all on money he is borrowing from our children and their children yet unborn.

Andrew Jackson? The president who used the Cherokees then drove them off their land and herded them across the country on the Trail of tears?

info

info on Hanson

Since the Dems started in 1792, and Hanson was President in 1781 ( and died in 1783) I doubt if he can be called a Democrat.

"The Democratic Party is one of two major political parties in the United States, the other being the Republican Party. The party under its present name was established by Andrew Jackson during the 1820s, but it traces its origins to Thomas Jefferson and the Democratic-Republican Party in 1792."
