If so, what are the best pubs for general sessions?
This will be my first full week at the Whitby Folk.
Can't get my head around the fact that a year ago was when I
purchased my first Melodeon from Music Room at Whitby.

Just to let you all know that the Tuesday sessions at Monks Walk are alive and kicking due to the tremendous energy of Graham in seeing it through a lean spell. We have new faces who are superb musicians and there is a real buzz about the sessions.

The sesssion will run this week as there will be people from Rotheram coming.

NOTE;I will be informing Lorraine(specky)that i shall be cancelling Septembers session as the Hull shanty fest is on.

Taking the numbers attending in last coupla months;holidays commitment,feativals etc.,I have made an organisors decision and will be cancelling the July, August as well as September sessions next year.

Sorry but was at 4 Fools last weekend and Cleckheaton next weekend, then Kelk, then Staithes, then Durham - lookes like the next Sunday we'll make will be the first one in August if we don't go to Lechlade. Saying that lots of people don't get away as much as us of the life of leisure persuasion!

There is some merit in Mick's suggestion. I get the impression that many people are folked out after the festival and then they go off to other festivals and/or holidays during July and August. A break for those two months might be a good idea - I know that many clubs close over the Summer.

Thanks to the few who did make an appearance.Especially to Sue and Barry who come all the way from Rotheram to support the sessions.

Re:noise;It was as shame a few selfish people spoil it for the many,but this is always a problem as it is a pub and we are seen to be the intruders, especially as in this case when the noisees were in the room before us.

Due to the lack of support in the summer months - holidays/loads of festivals etc.- It may be worth while looking to cancelling this session from June to September,what do you all think?
