A study in the US has discovered that people who drink fruit juice at least 3 times a week are at less risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease.
Apparently Hydrogen Peroxide damages the brain cells, and a componenet in the fruit juice prevents this from happening.
It must be true it was on BBC Radio 4 !!

I know a guy who is 76 who drinks food grade Hydrogen Peroxide whenever he starts to get sick and he as asute as they come.

The anti oxidents in any fruit juice that has part of the skin of the fruit still in it is considered to be best.

btw the study was done on folks who were already 65.

Lots of folks drink h2o2. Listerine makes a teeth whitening mouthwash that is full of h2o2. I wouldn't know if it is safe or if it makes your teeth blonde.

I'm no doctor, chemist or biologist, but wouldn't orally ingested hydrogen peroxide be neutralized as soon as it hit the acidic environment of the stomach and, thus, never enter the bloodstream? I get the impression the article is talking about hydrogen peroxode within the bloodstream, produced as a byproduct of normal chemical/biological processes.

Ingestion of hydrogen peroxide can cause serious harm or death, as well as irritation or ulcers in the stomach and intestines. Health Canada has not authorized any hydrogen peroxide product advertised to treat AIDS, cancer, emphysema or any other serious and life-threatening diseases. There are, however, several high strength hydrogen peroxide products authorized for sale in Canada as disinfectants and as dental bleaching applications, which are health products for professional use only.

Health Canada advises Canadians to contact the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate at 1-800-267-9675 if they find any hydrogen peroxide product advertised in Canada to treat AIDS, cancer, emphysema or any other serious and life-threatening diseases. Consumers requiring more information about this advisory can contact Health Canada's public enquiry line at [phone], or toll free at 1-866-225-0709.

To date, no adverse reactions suspected to be associated with the ingestion of hydrogen peroxide have been reported to Health Canada. The study was only of Japanese Americans. To compare with other Japanese with other diets, and cut the variables.

What could be in fruit juice that wouldn't be in fruit?

A nurse once told me not to drink fruit juice, but to eat the fruit. Actual fruit keeps a person filled up and contributes fiber. Fruit juice is mostly water and sugar. Not to mention the waste of the packaging and the disposal of the packaging.
