Subject: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Bobert Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:11 AM Hmmmmmmmmm? Given the developements over the last few days I'm beginnin' to wonder if Karl Rove no longer has an "A Game"... What next??? Pics of Georgie Boy havin' his way with a goat??? I don't get this strategy... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Rapparee Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:23 AM Goats are so, so passe, Bobert. So very declassee. Llamas, on the other hand, are quite comme il faut. That means goats are out and llamas are where it's at. I think it's a case of political hubris. "A man's reach should exceed his grasp/Or what's a heaven for?" Browning wrote, but it helps to be able to grasp with your whole hand -- or at least your fingertips -- when you're trying to hang on. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: TIA Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:28 AM Nope. In a weird way, this is working perfectly. The news is not reporting the carnage in Iraq over the last few days, or the looming North Korean nuke test, or the redeployment of naval forces towards Iran, or the records that indicate that Condi Rice has lied through her teeth about 9/11 warnings. Meanwhile Limbaugh, Hannity, Drudge, et al. are already spinning this as a partisan, hateful, "Democrat" plot. My faith in the judgement of the American electorate is so shaken, that I see it actually working. Besides, as you yourself said before the last election Bobert, the Dem's will have to win by nearly a landlside to overcome the vote theft that gives Repubs and instant 5 to 10 point lead. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Donuel Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:31 AM :) memo from Karl Rove secret All the pieces are now in place to claim victory even if there is a rollback of our numbers in November. Gas prices will continue to fall through October. There will be no mention of the demise of the big 3, bankrupcies etc. Put off the capture of bin Laden 2 more years. Talking points: The remnant scurge of corrupt liberal Catholic Priests and liberal supported homosexuals in our midst have disgusted us all. But Americans see from the hill tops that the mandate for the war on terrorism, despite the best sordid efforts of rich elite Democrats to drag the country into the gutter, remains to be the crowning glory of God, Liberty, Freedom and civilization itself. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Donuel Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:34 AM Karl Rove memo to Diebold: "Spike the punch everywhere except West Palm Beach." |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Rapparee Date: 05 Oct 06 - 10:35 AM Gee, the news out here in The West is carrying all of that.... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Mr Happy Date: 05 Oct 06 - 12:43 PM ....didn't know what it was - here 'tis:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_surprise |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: TIA Date: 05 Oct 06 - 01:40 PM Karl Rove himself has said he's got one cooked up... Rove's own words |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Old Guy Date: 05 Oct 06 - 09:49 PM This thread seems to be as useful as a fart in a space suit. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Bobert Date: 06 Oct 06 - 08:48 AM I didn't realize that you were an astronaut, Old Guy... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Rapparee Date: 06 Oct 06 - 09:06 AM Actually, I was drifting away from the ship when I did fart in my spacesuit. The gas changed my vector and velocity just enough that I was able to get back to the ship. My life was saved and so were those of the rest of the crew, as I had the only key to the toilet with me at the time. We'd had burritos for dinner, and I'll leave the rest to your imagination. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Bobert Date: 06 Oct 06 - 09:23 AM Hmmmmmmmmmm? Well, Rap, ya' got me wonderin' out loud here... Given the lies and dirty tricks that Rove is capable of, is it possible that he might resort to bottles flagilation gas for Democratic leanin' precincts??? I mean, with all the gas comin' outta the Bush White House he certainly wouldn't have to look far for a supplier... Maybe Old Guy would even step to the plate and make a contribution??? (But, Bobert, the election isn't in October so a massive flagilation attack on Dem leaning precincts can't technically be considered an "October Surprise"...) Details... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Old Guy Date: 06 Oct 06 - 12:33 PM Well, I had to give it up because I farted too much. Here's your surprise: Rove and Cheney just blew up a chemical recycling plant in North Carolina so they can blame it on terrorists and get Republicans re-elected. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Bobert Date: 06 Oct 06 - 04:36 PM Wow!!! A tad early, Oldster, but, hey, if that's true then you guys can quit that boastin' that the terrorists haven't hit us since 9/11... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Old Guy Date: 07 Oct 06 - 12:47 AM Bobert: You would rather have the US suffer another terrorist attack than to give any credit to the administration. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Bobert Date: 07 Oct 06 - 08:30 AM Old Guy, Nah, and neither would I make stuff up about terrorists doing stuff they didn't just to try to scare a few extra votes outta people... |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Old Guy Date: 01 Nov 06 - 11:55 PM On CNN Headline news tonight: Glenn Beck: ... this John Kerry statement is nothing other than the Karl Rove October surprise. It very well could be. Karl Rove, he`s this evil. Karl Rove`s evil plan could have been the whole time -- you remember everybody was saying, "Why is he so happy? Why is he feeling like everything`s going to be so good?" Maybe it`s this. Maybe his whole plan was, "Listen, just keep going. Never mind. Don`t worry about the polls. At some point, John Kerry will say something stupid and lose this election for the Democrats, as well..... |

Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Old Guy Date: 02 Nov 06 - 12:20 AM Just bringing another one of Bobert's dead ass, yawn, threads back to life. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Amos Date: 02 Nov 06 - 12:25 AM Hey, who'da thought that Karl Roves "October Surprise" would be an illiterate mindless attack on John Kerry? There's a waste of TWO perfectly good jokes for you. Rove being the other one, and the bigger of the two. A |

Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Wolfgang Date: 08 Nov 06 - 11:55 AM All that talk about October surprise was just political paranoia, wasn't it? Wolfgang |

Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 08 Nov 06 - 03:15 PM The timing of the Saddam verdict and sentence may conceivably have been a coincidence. (Though of course that would have been a November surprise.) |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Don Firth Date: 08 Nov 06 - 03:39 PM Check the news a little more carefully. There were several little items that looked like they could have been shots at an "October surprise," including the Saddam conviction, but none of them washed. What with all the corruption charges and scandals on the Republican side, it looked to me like they were just too busy ducking and running to come up with much of anything. Out of ammo. Don Firth |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: GUEST,TIA Date: 08 Nov 06 - 03:58 PM Yup. No paranoia here. Rove's done it so many times that it is MO not speculation. Just so happens that all the last minute shenanigans were ignored by a pissed-off nation. |
Subject: RE: BS: An 'October Surprise'???.... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 09 Nov 06 - 04:11 PM Yup. Instead they served up a November hash. |
