My apologies, Ebbie. You'll need to take it up with Republican Gov. Arnie Schwarzenegger- whose phrase it is. Uses it regularly to bash his opposition.

And its hardly the most demeaning thing Arnie has to say about- or has done to- women.

Actually, recently, Arnie has made common cause with much of his opposition on some high-profile issues--like emissions limits and a big bond issue. This includes some legislators at whom the "girlie men" remark was aimed.

As a result, his polls are soaring. Both his Democratic challenger and the rabid Right are now apoplectic.
