Subject: Lyr Add: THE OLD SIOUX AND SUE From: Abby Sale Date: 10 Nov 06 - 09:42 PM THE OLD SIOUX AND SUE (or SUE AND THE SIOUX) Tune: "Sweet Betsy from Pike" Words by Steve Suffet & Abby Sale ©2006 One day a Lakota walked in a cafe, With a shotgun and buffalo, and this he did say: "I want some black coffee," to the waitress at hand, So she brought a tall mug to that proud Indian. Chorus (optional): Sing too rali oorali oorali ay Sing too rali oorali oorali ay He gulped down the coffee in a moment or so, Then he leveled his gun at the poor buffalo. He fired two blasts at the buffalo's side, In a pool of bloody entrails that buffalo died. Next morning, quite early, he came back again, A new buffalo bull had the old Indian; His shotgun in hand as he strode to the bar, "Want more black coffee, in a cup, not a jar." Poor Sue, the waitress, just stared when he said it, "You can't have no more, not for cash nor for credit. We're still cleaning up from that mess yesterday, What in hell was that business about anyway?" Well, the Indian just smiled and proudly declared, "Been elected to Congress, and now must prepare, To come in and drink coffee, and then shoot the bull, Disappear for the day, and leave the clean-up to you." |
