Subject: BS: Irish Gaelic Pronunciation Help Please? From: GUEST,Scabby Douglas Date: 21 Nov 06 - 07:38 AM I have been asked by a friend to help with getting approximate pronunciation for the following: (I have added my guesses, but they are only guesses) Feadha, (either Fay-ah or Fay-gh-ah) Aicme, (Ah -kuh -muh) Craobh, (K-ray-v) Fleasg, (no idea) Ceart. (I'd guess at somethiing like k-yer-ch) All help would be appreciated! Thanks |

From: Gulliver Date: 21 Nov 06 - 09:21 PM Craobh is pronounced similar to "crave" (depends on the dialect) Inis Gluaire like "inish gloo-ih-reh" Ceart is like "K-yart" I am familiar with Munster Irish. The other dialects, in particular Ulster, have different pronunciations. |
