Air Force blamed after garage doors go haywire

Neighbors say it's open-and-shut case

By TOM ROEDER THE GAZETTE

Air Force Space Command has declared a cease-fire in the latest battle for military control of the region's garage doors.

Top commanders think a new radio transmitter installed at the secretive underground Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station attacked hundreds of automatic garage door openers in southern Colorado Springs with devastating and unexpected results.

The Air Force began testing the transmitter, used for hand-held radios, Tuesday, the same day hundreds of remote control openers as far away as Widefield ceased to work. The Air Force isn't admitting a role in the saga, but when the transmitter was shut down Thursday
afternoon, the garage doors returned to normal.

Didn't Air Force One have this trouble before? Maybe during Reagan's years?

I am a simple garage door,
My owner loves me true.
I keep his car so safe inside,
That's what I'm made to do.
But something happened yesterday,
I opened by mistake.
A passing thief saw my owners car,
And it, did quietly take.

My owner spoke to Space Command,
Without one piece of joy,
He told them that a passing thief,
Had stolen his bright red toy.
A 1970 red Corvette,
Was travelling the highway.
With another driver in its seat,
He's driven it away.

He told the guy at Space Command,
He heard they were to blame.
That a radio transmitter there,
Had played a cruel game.
He asked for compensation,
For the loss of his Corvette.
We're not to blame said Space command,
Not a dollar will you get.

Talk about conspiracy theories. And was not "Space Command" the 60's name for the Zenith remote con troll? Hmmmmm.
but a song...?

"My prospects they are open, and of my garage door I am hoping, it will release me and lead me to sail about the stars.

The neighbors are all grounded, their garage doors Air Force bounded, It may give to me a moment to lead me to sail about the stars.

But my UFO will be grounded if the remote controll is un-founded and the Zenith Space Command can not lead me...... to sail about the stars"

SOryy if this is no good, first song challenge I have responed to

A second verse might be based on 'Dead zone' scrambles remote car-lock signals in Oakland Park: claims that an "unidentified electronic device" comes and goes, so that remote auto door lock devices sometimes work, sometimes don't. (Cites, but does not identify, other occurences elsewhere.)

Now if the two could be coupled, when the garage door opens the doors wouldn't work, or .... ....

Our neighbors garage door opener opens the sliding doors on our minivan if we don't keep it locked, hmmmm.

This is a good example of a corollary of Murphy's Law:

The more complicated you make things, the more chance that something will stuff up.
