He carries it by the neck, the tone is way to good considering there's a rifle stock in the body, and when he plays it, the music seems to come from somewhere wlse. And there's no brackets hold the head to the body. I'm going out on a limb here by saying that it's not a real banjo. (Really, Steve? Ya think so?)

Anyway, I would have loved to have one back in the days when people requested Dueling Banjos, Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Panama Red, Fox on the Run, etc. (I play old-time clawhammer).

Or when I was a cop. I'd bring out my banjo, the bad guys would break out laughing, and I'd kill them. HAHA. Actually, I did carry a harmonica in my patrol car, but it's useless as a weapon.

Was that a 'Peacemaker' attatched to his banjo, although banjos are not known for being restful.
Personally, I prefer poison darts in the penny whistle, much quieter and dammed efective. I remember seeing that film years ago, it was just toooooooooo corny for words. ;-}

Going back to the fifties, I always remember LVC as a baddie in so many Saturday morning matinees, Hopalong Cassidy, The Range Rider, God knows how many others he played bit nasty parts in. He always caught my eye as an actor even then! Much under-rated!

Banjo's don't kill, or make peace either; it's the people who use 'em.

Certainly, I would agree that Pete Seeger is a master at using the banjo to help bring about a more peaceful and human world. Most likely the Rifle Banjo Man would make less of a contribution, but he sure is a straight shooter!
