Subject: Lyr Req: Granny's Cozy Kitchen/Old Bohemian Town From: keroz Date: 05 Jan 07 - 06:33 PM Hi- My father used to sing songs to us that he learned in England during the war and we are trying to track down two of them: One seems to be called Granny's Cozy Kitchen and gos aomething like" "What a thrill comes back to me in the days that used to be In Granny's cozy kitchen long ago In a quaint old Inglenook, I would read my storybook as granny's voice came singing soft and low" The other, that we think is Old Bohemian Town goes: "In a quiet old bohemian town where it's peaceful when the sun goes down they are making her a wedding gown they are making her a wedding gown but not to marry me" Does anyone have any thoughts on these? We would like to play recording sof them at his memorial service- he passed away on 12/22 Many thanks- Michael |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Granny's Cozy Kitchen/Old Bohemian Town From: Joe Offer Date: 06 Jan 07 - 03:56 AM Well, Sheet Music Warehouse in the UK has sheet music for "Old Bohemian Town," Words and music - A.Marsden and J.Kennedy 1935. that's the only mention of the song I've found. I imagine that "J. Kennedy" is Jimmy Kennedy of Ireland. |
