Subject: RE: Beverley - Sun Inn From: Gedpipes Date: 16 Mar 07 - 08:11 AM Roger I think what you do in the Sun etc will go down well in the Tiger - IMHO its a good back room and the landlord is a decent bloke who is keen to support live music. Take Ted up on the offer but forget the flamingo stuff Blue skies Ged |
Subject: RE: Beverley - Sun Inn From: Paco Rabanne Date: 16 Mar 07 - 05:09 AM Hola Sir Roger, I am a very irregular attendee of the friday Tune session in The Tiger. Why not pop in there tonight and have a chat with him? I will in, and may even buy you a small sherry. Flamenco, the true path! |

Subject: RE: Beverley - Sun Inn From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 16 Mar 07 - 04:40 AM A discussion point for you all: Severall regular sessioneers hvae approached me over the last few weeks to sound me out on the idea of moving one or more of our sunday sessions to The Tiger - why they pick on me I don't know but here goes: I have never been in The Tiger so I don't have any personal experience of its value as a music venue. However I am assured by others that it is good for space and acoustics, quality of beer and enthusiasm of landlord. Any other opinions? The main driver of change seems to be disatisfaction with the cleanliness, toilets, lighting and beer supplies at The Sun and the general ambience and beer in that separate room at Hodgson's. Anyone who has spoken to me in the last 5 years will know how grieved I am at the decline in The Sun and also how much I love the feel of the pub when it is run properly. At the moment I'm not happy with the feel in there at all - any opinions on that? So, it is open to discussion. I'm told that landlord of the Tiger would happily have us there every Sunday but then every landlord in Beverley woud probably say the same, given the amount of trade that we bring in. We work as a collective so it is up to the regular, active participants of the sessions to say what they want - over to you. Roger |
