Subject: BS: War protestors From: kendall Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:35 PM Who knows anything about this story that the war protestors spray painted the capitol? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Peace Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:40 PM war protesters spray paint capitol, news There are a gang of sites talkin' about it. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Peace Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:42 PM It takes either spelling, BTW: protestor protester |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: jeffp Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:43 PM Story here in the Washington Post. Apparently nine protestors spray painted steps on the West side of the Capitol. The article mentions "other buildings," but doesn't elaborate. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Barry Finn Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:47 PM I'd say the cats are marking their territory. Time to neuter the prey. Barry |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Cluin Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:57 PM "Apparently nine protestors spray painted steps on the West side of the Capitol." Trying the old Wile E. Coyote manoeuvre, eh? Hoping someone trying to run up the painted steps will crash into the wall and knock themselves out? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Peace Date: 06 Feb 07 - 04:57 PM Sure sounds like a riot to me. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: able Date: 06 Feb 07 - 05:02 PM I assume the capitol is Washington. At least it was non violent by the sounds of it. Surprises me that there haven't been far more events, people will do their silly things. Expect the painters to be young idealitic and not particularly bright. These things happen, and we can all wish that they didn't. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Cluin Date: 06 Feb 07 - 07:48 PM What's that, able? Protesting the war? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: able Date: 07 Feb 07 - 04:14 PM No, just protesting the protesters. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: jeffp Date: 07 Feb 07 - 04:24 PM The Capitol is a building. The Capital is Washington. The Capitol is in the Capital. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: dianavan Date: 07 Feb 07 - 04:28 PM The police didn't stop them and it was cleaned off quickly. Just another nuisance and very ineffective. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Alba Date: 07 Feb 07 - 04:47 PM Personally I am for Protesters myself. I mean if someone somewhere hadn't tested that paint those protesters used then it might not have come off so easily! Sheeesh, I mean the "Police" saw them painting and let it happen. Pro Paint Police now...what is this Country coming to! This is serious, unlike say, people dying daily in Iraq and in many other war torn Countries around the Planet. Silly young idealitic and not particularly bright protestors! Strange.. the young people at the PRO PEACE rally I attended elsewhere in the Land of the Free the same day seemed very bright and very REALISTIC!..odd.... |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: kendall Date: 07 Feb 07 - 04:54 PM Maybe they were Bush shills? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Greg F. Date: 07 Feb 07 - 06:24 PM people will do their silly things... not particularly bright. And what about the intelligence of the people that got the U.S. into the Iraq cluster-fu$k in the first place? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: JeremyC Date: 07 Feb 07 - 06:33 PM Yeah, exactly. How many Iraqi children and late-teenage to early-twenties Americans were killed by the protestors' vandalism? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: able Date: 08 Feb 07 - 03:49 AM Christ all mighty, I was only commenting that it was a dumb stunt. What kind of irritating weed do you people have up your asses? |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Cats Date: 08 Feb 07 - 04:13 PM My grandmother pulled some weird stunts when she was a protestor. She chained herself to railings, tried to burn down railway lines and blow up the lines so the prime minister couldn't get to his country retreat. It worked. Women and working men got the vote. I joined in some weird stunts in my younger days. I put photographs on a wire fence of my nephew and neice, wove flowers into the wire and stood holding hands with thousands of other women right around the base. It worked. Greenham Common closed. I can't condemn those who painted the steps to the capitol building. At least it was a peaceful protest, not a violent one. At least it made us stop and think. |
Subject: RE: BS: War protestors From: Rapparee Date: 09 Feb 07 - 08:48 AM First I've heard of it. And no, I'm not limited in my sources (which include Al-Jazeera and the BBC). |
