Subject: BS: Flashman on the box!! From: Dazbo Date: 08 Feb 07 - 04:42 AM project in development go to the above link and go to projects in development and you'll find that there are three tv films of Sir Harry's exploits in development. There are no other details of who, what or when but the company also did the Sharpe series so it won't be all bad. |

Subject: RE: BS: Flashman on the box!! From: Midchuck Date: 08 Feb 07 - 10:53 AM I'm sceptical. Doing Flashman at all faithfully would require massive political incorrectness, and I doubt the money guys would have the guts. But I'm willing to wait and see. Peter. |

Subject: RE: BS: Flashman on the box!! From: The Walrus Date: 08 Feb 07 - 08:59 PM "...Flashman's adventures take him the length of the 1840s to 1860s..." That covers about 6 or 7 of the books (but Flash Harry runs well past the 1860s), I assume the TV pieces will be based on Flashman, F at the Charge and F & the Great Game - although, as they are also making 'Prisoner of Zenda'*, it's possible they will go for 'Royal Flash', while they have access to the locations/sets. I look forward to seeing them. * There was a rumour, some time back, that there was a plan to produce a version of @Prisoner of Zenda' with Sean Bean in the lead role - strange, I never saw P of Z as a comedy (well, it would be impossible to take him seriously as Rudolf Rassendyll or King Rudolf of Ruritania) |

Subject: RE: BS: Flashman on the box!! From: ossonflags Date: 09 Feb 07 - 03:14 AM The only movie about Flashman was loosly based on Royal Flash, with Malcolm McDowal playing an unconvincing Flashman. |
