Well gang... we used to hang out (pun intended) under the official hanging tree of the city of New York, singing hanging ballads, she used to advertize for lost purple diamond studded merkins in high school - I present to you, the great Bobbijo... wellcome in kiddo...
Spaw, pass the beans...

I lived in NYC for a number of years, and we have something in common. I worked on an island that was once called Gibbet Island. I wonder if they sang any of your songs out there? (Now it's Ellis Island).

Welcome to Mudcat!

Potatoes in Brooklyn are fine. We mash them up, encase them in dough and call them knishes. Yay potatoes.

I must return to "trampling through the warehouse where the drapes of Roth are stored." Maybe I can find that purple mirkin in there.

Cheers.

mmmm--- all these delicacies. And to think, I can only offer you some Juniors Cheesecake, a BAgel and a Schmeer (no Blueberries, Cranberries, or other foreign matter on those- just good old onions and poppy seeds), and a salute to Saint Jackie Robinson.

There's a lot more than that in Brooklyn! My favorite middle eastern restaurant is there (on Atlantic Avenue) and there is some good New York Style pizza to be found. There was an Italian restaurant out on McDonald Ave at Kings Highway, under the F train that was marvelous--and reputed to be very safe due to it's Mafia connections. Then there are the little neighborhood bakeries. . . I could gain weight contemplating all of these delicacies!
