Subject: Lyr Add: PEACEFUL DREAMS (H. Handy) From: Peace Date: 09 Feb 07 - 09:43 PM PEACEFUL DREAMS H.Handy Ch. Peaceful dreams, faded memories Many loved ones past and gone Stories told to young by elders Fables wrote and turned to song 1. Once I stood among the timber Risin' high up to the sky Now it's turned to stone and cinders No one knows to reason why Ch. 2. Lakes and steams once were many Deer and fowl were free to roam But it's gone and there's no endin' To the wrath that man's brought on Ch. 3. Life was sweet, life was simple Never had to rush around Noisy cars and crowded cities Have taken all my sacred ground Ch. THE SELDOM SCENE - At The Scene |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Peaceful Dreams (H Handy) From: GUEST,Jerry Swart Date: 19 Oct 20 - 04:00 PM It was in fact written by Harold Handy, a good friend of mine. He grew up in Ferrum, VA, and now lives near Myrtle Beach. We regularly play golf and socialize. He also wrote Left Over Biscuits. His brother Roger was the original lead singer for Lost and Found Bluegrass Band - he lives in Rocky Mount, VA and still has a band that plays in that area. Roger sounds a lot like Charlie Waller. Hope this is not too late. |
