I recently discovered that there is an organisation called The Veterans Agency, and that they are giving away a special badge to all ex-forces personnel who joined before 1969.It is in the form of the Combined Services emblem ( anchor,wings & swords ) ,surrounded by the words " HM Armed Forces ", with the word "Veteran " underneath. The Veterans Agency has the 'phone number to call for your badge,if you qualify !!

Yes, my father-in-law just got a lapel badge from them, out of the blue.   They seem to have taken their time - he's 95, and was demobbed back in 1945.
