As far as I know ( but I don't know much ) this will be Brian Peters' first visit to what many people (including me) consider to be the best folk club in the land.

We can expect an evening of superb singing and guitar pyrotechnics from one of the finest English performers around, and those attending will have the additional satisfaction of knowing that they are helping to defray Brian's recent humongous payment to the Inland Revenue.

So, if you are within travelling distance of Glenfarg, (ie within 100 miles ), come along and enjoy a great night.

Not actually my first visit, Murray, although it's been a long time. My last gig there was on the near-disastrous tour of Scotland in 1992, when my car got pinched in Kilmarnock on the first night, and I managed to complete the remaining three dates (Glasgow, Inverness and Glenfarg), by announcing the problem from the stage at each gig and asking if anyone happened to be going in the right direction with a spare seat in the car. Worked every time, and somewhat restored my faith in humanity.

It turned out the Inland Revenue actually owed ME money!

Thanks to Capt B for the support, and Hi to John and Tina, hope our paths cross again one day.
Brian

Looking forward to seeing you play again, Brian.

I still have fond memories of your gig at the (sadly deceased) Tron Folk Club in Edinburgh, when I did my party piece floor spot of playing the " Grand Old Duke of York " in the style of various guitarists, and you came on directly after and did it in the style of Dennis Taylor (don't ask, you had to be there)

I would like, if I may, to put in an early request for "The Dragoon's Ride".

At your gig in the Tron, I believe that was the first time you sang it in public.

I am sure you have had enough time in the interim to get it right by now ...

(Jes' kidding, as you know. A great song )

Setting off right now....

Yes, I'll do "Dragoon's Ride".

The "playing guitar in the style of famous snooker players" was probably the most embarrassing episode of my career. It was an off-the-cuff idea at a gig that had (up to that point) been going particularly well; brandishing the guitar aloft in the style of Dennis Taylor after potting the winning black against Steve Davis was all part of the plan. Falling over backwards in the process was not.

It was all your fault for playing "Duke of York" and giving me the idea, and now you bring it up in a public forum! Not so sure about that request after all....
