Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Take me out to the ballgame From: Jim Lad Date: 06 Mar 07 - 01:37 AM Football: You hit a round ball into a square net with your feet. Come to think of it: I don't get that either. I think it lost something when they stopped using pig's bladders. Thanks Peace: I'll be sure to read that. Now that "Root, root, root" thing should put a smile on the Ausies' faces. Good on ya, Chris & Chico! |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Take me out to the ballgame From: Peace Date: 05 Mar 07 - 11:45 PM Jim, IMO, there is no way the game can be explained. Play a few and you'll know all you need to know. Watch a few and you'll have a general idea. It is one of the greatest games on the planet. But then I expect folks in Britain and Ireland feel that way about soccer and cricket. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Take me out to the ballgame From: katlaughing Date: 05 Mar 07 - 11:01 PM I was surprised it wasn't already here, Sorcha. It might not be folk, but it sure is "Americana" and I see no harm in it being posted. Doesn't mean it's going in the DT. |

Thanks, Chris TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME Katie Casey was baseball mad, Had the fever and had it bad, Just to root for her hometown crew, ev'ry sou-- Katie blew. On a Saturday, her young beau called to see if she'd like to go To see a show but Miss Kate said, "No, But I'll tell you what you can do" Take me out to the ballgame, Take me out to the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack. I don't care if I never get back, Let me root, root for the home team, If they don't win it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes you're out.
