02 Jul 07 - 06:31 PM (#2092734) Subject: Am I the biggest idiot on this website?? From: lefthanded guitar Okay first I tried to start a thread called A folkie Fourth..where I was asking you 'all if there was any folkmusic oriented celebration, concert, informal gathering etc. for Independence Day you know of in the NYC area. I posted that thread a couple of hours ago and I STILL DON'T SEE IT!!!! (and I STILL don't know what's happening besides the usual fireworks and beer blasts) THEN I tried to find an older thread where I was discussing Chris Rawlings, and can't locate it with the search engine. FINALLY I tried to view where my old postings were and just came up with what seems like a miscellaneous list of threads with no sense of organization whatsoever. Is it the website or is it..gulp... actually ME?? Am I really such a Luddite that I can't operate this website. If you have the answer to any of these questions, or know of a good place to buy blueberries on sale, let me know. |

02 Jul 07 - 06:43 PM (#2092746) Subject: RE: Am I the biggest idiot on this website?? From: JohnInKansas I don't see anything that you've posted to recently that has "Chris Rawlings" in the thread title, but there are a number of "vaguely named" things that might be possibilities. In THIS THREAD, in your first post, click on YOUR NAME "lefthanded guitar" and you'll get a listing of all the threads you've posted to. You're a lot more likely to recognize the one about Rawlings than I am. A last resort, if you have the Google toolbar or want to look up how to code a Google query to search "this site only" for "Chris Rawlings" will return a number of threads fairly quickly. John |

02 Jul 07 - 06:59 PM (#2092752) Subject: RE: Am I the biggest idiot on this website?? From: lefthanded guitar Thanks folks. John, the one you posted IS the Chris Rawlings reference, which I will have to check tomorrow as I am short on time today. Art, thank your for the Folkie Fourth thread as well. Perhaps someone WILL 'bump' that thread over here. And thank you Nigel for your gracious assurance, evidence notwithstanding, that there are bigger idiots on this website. Tis a comfort. Perhaps false, but heartwarming nonetheless. Well the only thing missing now is....the blueberries ;-) |

As you are a member, you can click onto the "Add To Tracer" in the reply to Thread box ... and then the thread remains traced / linked in your Personal Page, even when it's not up on the current page. You just click the Personal Page text at the top of the page and you can quickly the the (in)activity on any thread that you have traced (or de-trace any thread that has died a natural death!). But the point that we appreciate even (sometime especially) those who might need a little help at times should not be missed. And we generally find no need for applications, nominations, elections, ... or even the sort of astute awareness Bill D so frequently offers. I myself do try, but the competition is ... . 03 Jul 07 - 05:39 PM (#2093406) Subject: RE: Am I the biggest idiot on this website?? From: Little Hawk The question is, how many complete idiots does it take to make a really satisfying and entertaining website? Is there a point where one attains critical mass and crosses over from merely moderate idiocy into sheer blithering and total idiocy? Could the departure of just one complete idiot cause this website to revert to what could be termed "ordinary" or "run of the mill" stupidity, but not complete idiocy? This is worrisome. Some complete idiots have left already, but I shan't name them. They are fondly remembered, to be sure. Still, I think we are maintaining a general level of idiocy which is adequate for our purposes. It causes me considerable anxiety though, when I contemplate what might happen if I should ever leave this website! Dear me...! I mean, look, Spaw is barely ever heard from around here anymore. The situation is seriously getting quite fragile... |

04 Jul 07 - 01:35 PM (#2094075) Subject: RE: Am I the biggest idiot on this website?? From: GUEST,pragmatic I've noticed a lot of threads that deal with family, wholesome values, positive patriotism, etc. get axed right out of the gate here. It's a "progressive" thing, I assume. Can't have people arguing in favor of family values, morality and all that. The Fourth of July won't have any meaning in the North American Union, which the "progressives" here support. They support anti-family values, religionless society, ignorance, gun-grabbing and total surrender to the financial elite that buys them off with trinkets and absurd lies. So yeah, your threads may well be getting axed. Lots of mine do. "...Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security...." |
