They have started with some songs that they know: JOHN BALL JACK HALL WINDMILLS (Alan Bell) MY LADY'S A WILD FLYING DOVE War Song (Linda Kelly) SWEET BRIDE Any suggestions?

So apologies if this goes over old ground - by all means point me to previous threads. We have two Silly Sisters albums which may yield an idea or two |

Janet and Christine did have accompaniment, but I'm sure most of these would be OK without. http://www.musicscotland.com/cd/christine-kydd-janet-russell-musicscotland.html |

We saw them together in Arran years ago and thought they were wonderful. Janet also very kindly gave my wife a singing lesson some years ago as a birthday present which was particularly appreciated as she doesn't really do one to one lessons. So I'm a big fan. |

The two Threlfall Sisters sing accompanied but their material is almost entirely traditional and traditional songs are always singable unaccompanied. Their harmonies are excellent, so should give you some ideas. IIRC, you are based in N. Yorks. They are at the Chillingham arms on Tyneside in October. Try to get along to see them. You will be in for a treat. Their website is here |
