I'm sure that many folks who have posted videos have chosen to, or been forced to, use different NAMES on You Tube than on Mudcat. It'll probably be an ongoing project to maintain some kind of "directory," if only in the form of references to the two (or are there now three?) "catters-on-youtube" threads...

Also, if you filter on "FSGW" you may find Getaway videos that don't appear under user names, such as the "Jelly Rollin'" late-night blues rendition I tripped over recently.

Hi,

I post here often. I've just done about 70 youtube videos teaching traditional songs and their origin:

My channel is Richiematt1

Here's a couple:

Bluegrass Boogie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs6j6DV5PK4

Good Morning Blues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoPq37fdXis

All the Pretty Little Horses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hpvo_zwRVWM

Most of my viseos teach the history and how to play the songs on the guitar:

Learn to Play Crow Jane Blues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSzMmYMv9Qw

Learn to Play Fishing Blues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxRetVhGFhs

Learn to play train on the Island: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asHbkJzbXmE

I've only got several thousand more to go- lol. Hopefully I'll start doing some obscure one like I just did "Braes O' Yarrow" yesterday- a version no one knows.

Yes, Amos is right. If you do a YouTube search for "FSGW" or "FSGW Getaway," you will find quite a few videos from various years' Getaways, etc. And there are many other Mudcatter videos there you can find by searching for "Mudcatter."

I've suggested that Mudcatters use that term as one of the key words for their videos, because the term "Mudcat" has too many referents (to people, marine dredging equipment, catfish, etc.) and will get you umpteen gazillion listings.

I have a channel on YouTube, with some Mudcatter and/or Getaway videos posted, but most of my channel isn't Mudcat stuff.

As Genie suggested, if everyone puts "Mudcatter" in the keywords when loading a video, it will make it easy for anyone here to find you.

Will Fly has a whole bunch of vids on YouTube. Some are purely there for the music, others are instruction vids....which I've been using a fair bit for hints and tips since I started playing guitar about 18 months back:

Thanks Jack and yes I've met you and your good lady a couple of times in the session in the Cobbles. Next time you come down we now also have earlier open-mic spots upstairs in the Black Swan. Obviously the Cobbles can be so noisy (not complaining cos I love the pub session atmosphere) that these slower quieter songs can be hard to get over so folk tend not to bother - but now we can do those earlier in the Black and still have the good old singalongs later on.

I recently started playing around with the iMovie software on my Macbook and decided to make a video of some of my art and Jane Austen related designs with a recording of Love is Teasin'.

As it's my first attempt, I learned from the mistake of not having the right resolution on some of the images, but I plan to make more.
