Does anyone know if there is a song about this school near Ballingeary, Co. Cork? I heard someone had composed one many years ago, so checking if anyone knows of it?

Was it in Irish, English - or indeed, both?

Dáibhí Ó Cróinín's book on the songs of Bess Cronin has a 16 verse/chorus song in Irish called "Scoil Bhár d'Ínse" which describes a session in a local school which was eventually disrupted by the clergy. Written in 1922. Same area.

Yes, I know that song alright. This is definitely a Keimaneigh/Céim an Fhia song. Written probably late 1970s/early 1980s when the school closed. Must keep searching!

Did you try the Ballingeary and Inchgeela Local History website?
