In it I sometimes see a Country Dance and Minuet printed one after another. Are the dances related? Could we do the dance steps to one form and then to another? Several country dances were published in the early 1700s with minuet titles and tunes. Unlike the original minuet, which was a couple dance, these were ordinary longways set dances, but done with a minuet step. These days they're generally done with a walking step just like any other 3/2 dance - Colin Hume (among others) has tried to re-introduce the minuet step but it hasn't caught on.
