Now that's an interesting idea. I mean, not just the idea of the artists on the sound track recreating it, but the idea that people could do it as a live show, with whatever musical talent they have around.

I went to the concert last night. It was phenomenal. Present were Norman Blake, The Cox Family, The Fairfield Four (there were five in the group?), Emmylou Harris, Chris Thomas King, Alison Kraus & Union Station, Colin Linden, The Peasall Sisters, Ralph Stanley, Dan Tyminski, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, The Whites and some other wonderful musicians. It was an amazing evening. Ralph Stanley did an incredible acapella song that blew everyone away. Imagine this man standing alone on the stage of Carnegie Hall, with only a spotlight on him, singing about death. There was a brief film tribute to John Hartford. Talk about some incredible singers and musicians. It seems that everyone who attended really appreciated being there. All the performers got lots of applause. I managed to give out 95 NY Pinewoods Folk Music Club newsletters in about 15 minutes. I could have given out many more, but couldn't carry them. It would be great if we could get some of the people to came to this concert to join our club. The Coen brothers were in the audience, and were introduced to the crowd. Celebrity spotters: we spotted John Goodman in the audience. The movie of the concert that happened last year in Nashville, "Down From the Mountain", will be in NY from June 15-21, at the Screening Room, 54 Varick Street. It is called an International Release, so it might be coming to a theater near you. Try KELLY@COWBOYBI.COM
