There will be the usual events, plus the organisers have invited, in the words of the Promotions Officer 'Folk Musicians'. She has said that other musicians would be very welcome on a casual basis. DPN+1 referred to in the Canal Songs thread are appearing on Chocolate Island, Gas Works Rd 2-5 pm. Dave Illingworth of DPN+1, is a appearing solo at Readifolk Clifton Arms, Gosbrook Rd, Caversham, Berks Sunday 18th May 8pm and will no doubt do some canal numbers. The band are also at the same venue as part of the Skiffle Session on Sunday 22nd June, noon till 5-ish. Alas, I shall be in Greece so I'll miss it this year. RtS |

Great Linford (where I live, in Milton Keynes) Waterside Festival is on from Fri-Sun 20-22 June. I see there are some bands descried variously as Folk, Acoustic/bluegrass/country, Blues/rock, and other unlikely combinations. Funny, I put my name down last year; they put Mrs P on the committee, but managed to lose me from the musical list. I suppose that should encourage more people to come! Steve |
