haddocker Ken Schatz & Barry Finn to tour UK July/Aug 2009 (114* d) RE: Ken Schatz & Barry Finn to tour UK 24/7- 30 Jul 09

Not having heard anything from the Finn Home Office, I thought perhaps mon petit frere had taken up with a rich bird from the royal family named "Delia" and was not coming back. It is so good to have this site where I can get the firsthand news from those in the know, as it were. It was great to read the positive reviews ( which were no surprise, knowing my worthy comrades). Ken better become a permanent partner if we return next year, because they will be expecting that unique sound that only he can give. Personally, the idea of Ken being with us makes me giddy with anticipation; the energy;the harmonic possibilities;the creative potential. We worked together in a "Prison Song" workshop at NEFFA, and it was fantastic to the point of incredibility, particularly since it was "spur of the moment". Of course, prison song singers come together like members of different Catholic Choirs. They all have the same or similar hymns in their repertoire and when the hymnals are handed out it all comes together as church, or in this case, prison.
Baruch, in case you get to read this, I told you in the past that you needed to watch your voice and taught you many techniques and warm-ups to preserve it, especially when it is challenged by long or repaeated performances. Did you forget this training? O.K., since you have already succumbed to injury, let me simply suggest the tea with honey route, and if the glucose spike is too much for you, just gargle with it. It's all about the warmth and the coating of the throat. Beyond that, GREAT JOB! And I most fervently pray for your continued success in the Mother Country.
                      Blessings,
                           Nahum
