Arrgghhh!! I hate anticipation when it gets drawn out! Amtrak, I know it's never on schedule...supposed to have been here about right now; now scheduled to arrive at 510p...5 minutes ago it was 508p...half an hour ago it was 430p! I am going with a good book and just camp out til he gets here!

Haha...he is bringing the rain with him! We've had t-storms and short bursts of minute amts. of rain the past two nights and predicted for the next few nights...about as long as he will be here.:-) And, he's already noticed the heat, esp. after the 48 degree morning in Juneau!

SRS, no I didn't show him devil's club (Oplopanax horridus). Didn't think of it as we were too busy looking for the bears that left the calling cards! Devil's club, by the way, while a tad frightening to look at, has medicinal properties, and has been used for a long, long time by folks native to the region.

So, I am in Denver in a very comfortable hotel. Bert(mudcat) met me at the airport off the plane fron Alaska after a Very early start and brought me here. Tomorrow is also a very early start,the Taxi is ordered for 6 am!!! I could see the Rocky mountains as we came into Denver, and I am looking forward to the train journey. What started out to be a quiet dinner with KT yesterday evening went down hill when a few of the friends I have made during this visit came over and we had a good sing together and much hilarity. there are pix and I will put them up when I can, I am amazed at the number and quality of the friends I am making and meeting on this trip, as the toast (Free Toast!!!) went round last night, "Friends!!!!"

well, Hi Guys I have some new pix right here as you can see I am having a whale of a time, the Brewery (hardly a microbrewery at 30 bottles per second] was producing some VERY Nice stuff that is there Porter type in my hand and it was very smooth and dry!!

Spaw, Yes I have my Kilt!!!!! and I am at Ebbies just now,( being attacked by her moggie archy) and very refreshed from a good nights sleep,and a Reuben sandwicjh for lunch.
KTs house has a KILLER view, if I can get a mains cable for my laptop I will put some pix on Flickr later. SINS even in the twilight you could see the glacier was BLUE!!!

Yikes! I came home from work at lunchtime to see how he's doing, and he's GONE! I WARNED him about those bears!

It's wonderful to have him here, and we're only just getting started. Our biggest problem is going to be deciding what to do this time and what to leave for his NEXT adventure. Dani, Tinker, no need to be jealous - just come on up. He'll be here for a few more days!


We took some pics last night, Mary, but it ws after 10pm, - dusk, you kinow, so we'll take more when we go back in the brighter light.
