As to the throat, the antibiotics build up to a certain concentration in the blood, which remains level if you take the antibiotics on schedule. They take a while to kill the bacteria, so they may not be finished working. Lots of other possibilities, but ask the doc.

Kendall, there IS a horizon. The world is always turning toward the morning, and all that. You just can't SEE the horizon. I can't see the horizon, but I have faith that it's out there somewhere, I BELIEVE there IS a horizon, and... I JUST SAW IT - I SAW THE HORIZON!!! OK, it's gone again.

Doug, I'm not supposed to drink alcohol while I'm on the meds. It is still a good thought, and much evidence that it works.
Deb, I will be there if I can get out. I have to wait for my grandson to come and clear the driveway. I have orders from "She who must be obeyed" to not touch a shovel or snowblower.

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, and I hope he has an answer to, How come my anti biotics have run out and I still have a sore throat?

I picked up Seamus last night and entertained him with the kitties. We slept in and went to the frigid beach for an hour. Afterwards I delivered him back to Kendall in preparation for tomorrow's storm. The Captain went off to the grocery store on his own just to get out of the house for a little while. A good sign.
Batten down the hatches all. tomorrow will be cold, wet, and generally crappy.

Kendall: Seems you are going to be okay and that's good news indeed. Drink a couple of glasses of red wine a day and it will surely help your condition. It's certainly helped mine. I have about 80% blockage of an artery coming out of my heart and it has been so since 1993. As with you, evidently a voluntary by-pass has occurred and that's a blessing.

Actually kat, Bill D. had The Spud last. I had annamil present it to Big Mick at a Getaway and he left it behind instead of in it. Anyway, Bill took it home and offered to send it to Mick but Mick declined saying he'd pick it up himself "sometime." Last I heard it had shriveled up and sent out long tentacle like roots but it was too late. Lacking proper soil and water "The Original Spud" passed into garbage history.

The actual use of The Original Spud was as stuffer for Mick to enhance the codpiece of his thong. Sadly he put it in the back which did no good and frankly made it look as though he had crapped himself.

I do have a thought though.....................Why not supply Kendall with a complete set? Two for the back, one for the front, and he'll be stylin' and profilin'......with the emphasis on profile. They would certainly make a nice, uh, stocking stuffer for Christmas.

In Reb of 1994, I was afflicted with something very similar and I can assure you it's very serious.

I wasn't feeling very well when I woke up that day but I had to go to Jack Kirby's funeral (one of the holy trinity of Comic Book Artists, the other 2 being Gil Kane and Will Eisner) on Julie Schwartz' behalf since he was snowed in back in New York. As the day progressed I started feeling worse but I went to the funeral anyway and just kept popping excedrin for the fever. By the time the funeral was over, I could barely stand up. I wanted to go to the graveside service but Gil made me promise to go home so I did. I collapsed on the couch and when I woke up a few hours later, I couldn't swallow at all. I went to the ER and they said it was an aggressive strep.


Eventually, it progressed to Scarlet Fever. That was a really dark time in my life. I had just left a long-term relationship and the break-up was explosive. Dealing with that while being so terribly sick was beyond weird. Lucikly, I had a few sweet people who would come by to feed me and help me shower. A magazine editor I wrote for lived a few blocks from my new apartment and he took it upon himself to see to my recovery in a totally platonic way.

It's amazing how some people you are friendly with but not close to can step up to the plate and assume all kinds of responsibilities when you have nobody else nearby. This fellow, Mike, he took care of me like a big brother for close to a year. He even re-introduced me to the man who would become my husband. Mike was my regular Friday night date nd he'd always take me to this club that he and some other film enthusiasts would rent to show classic cult horror & Sci Fi films. He'd get me to rubn the projector, take tickets, sell brownies, whatever. The week my fture husband came by was a special Coffin Joe Weekend with Coffin joe himself visiting from brazil.

Enough about that.

Strep Throats can lead to terrible things as evidence in this thread. I will be praying for Kendall's complete recovery.

If this about Kendall be true, that he is bottomless (so to speak) then I suggest that Something Must Be Done.

Anyone having anything they wish to donate to insure that Kendall isn't left bottomless please say so.

I will lead off the Collection To Bottom Out Kendall (CTBOK) with one dozen of those screw lids that are used in home canning. Not the flat ones with the seal, the ones that screw down the one with the seal. NB: some might be just a little bit slightly rusted and/or contain remnants of a jar's former contents.

We can send all this to Kendall and he can sell it at a Yard Sale and raise money for his new bottom.
