Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 07 Mar 13 - 07:53 AM A brief check in...much goodness, love & compassion here to encourage & comfort. Ann is with Jane, I'm home in East London. Jane had her first chemo session since December this Monday past. Scans & consultations to follow with further chemo if deemed necessary or advisable. As Spaw says: "Waiting is the pits". Jane is unable to walk unaided now. It's hard to believe that just over eighteen months ago she was playing Netball, driving the girls to school, keeping house, socialising.....cancer is such a cruel, insidious disease. Stay close, my Dear Friends, we really can't do this without you, Much Love to You All, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: ChanteyLass Date: 05 Mar 13 - 08:31 PM Aw, Spaw, I'd hoped your situation would be better than you described. The driving sounds distressing, too. Wendy, I'll hope for good results on billybob's bone marrow test. And Nigel, I'll still be here when you are ready to check in again. And I mean when You are Ready. No pressure. Take your time. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: catspaw49 Date: 05 Mar 13 - 05:08 PM Home.........Feeling better already but a decent sleep and a about a 12 hour assimilation and I'll be in top notch shape.....or at least feeling decent. We did the drive yesterday and today and Karen goes to work again tonight.............Gawd I love her and I have no idea what I would do without her. Of course from the time I met her and on, I never did know what I'd do without her. While in Columbus we also got the weekly Aronesp shot so that's it for the week! Wendy, with this renewal of energy I'll be keeping things crosssed and holding out good thoughts for some good news from the marrow biopsy and scan. Waiting is the pits. And to Allison and Janie and gnu and pete and Nigel and the entire crew.....THANKS!!! This is a great crew and a fine boat to sail on. Spaw |

Or you can just sit back and close your eyes and picture all of your dear Mudcat friends who love you and wish you health and comfort and happiness. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: billybob Date: 05 Mar 13 - 04:16 AM Love and hugs from Billy and I to you Spaw and Karen xx Billy had his CT scan and bone marrow biopsy yesterday ( results in 2 weeks) and our round trip was only 32 miles, made me count our blessings when I saw your post. Also all his treatment for 7 years has been on our good old National Health Service, hate to think how much money it has cost? Hope today goes well and you both get home tonight safe and not too tired rowing on much love to all the crew Wendy xxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: catspaw49 Date: 04 Mar 13 - 10:41 PM Aw well Janie.....they're not. I have gone 7 weeks without a transfusion (I was going only 2) of 2 or more pints. The Aronesp is working but below what it needs to be doing. Last Wednesday I was 8.0 on Hemoglobin so I knew it wasn't going to be long. The good thing is that the Doctor felt it has taken hold some butwe will be starting the Vudaza the3 end of the month. I was still hanging in Sunday but I sstarted calling to get the transfusions scheduled this morning and I have 2 pints going in tomorrow morning. We had to make another 100 mile round trip to Columbus to have the blood draw for the type and crossmatch and we'll do it again tomorrow. Of course Karen drives that route daily but all these extra trips are getting pretty old. We have great insurance through Karen's job at the hospital, buy we need to use their Docs which are ALL in Columbus. Hard on Karen, hard on the car, hard on the wallet...........But whaddaya gonna do? Damn Aronesp is $2700.00 per shot and I can assure you the chemo will be equally bad. I'm hoping after awhile we can work something out to get the chemo shot closer to home but I'm not holding my breath. Gotta' go to bed so I can get up and shower at 5.......Forgive any typos........ Spaw |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Janie Date: 04 Mar 13 - 09:36 PM Still rowing. Still singing. Spaw, I so hope the latest numbers on the blood work are, at a minimum, holding their own. |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 01 Mar 13 - 09:49 PM Of course, what was I thinking? The circle can start whenever it starts, and last for as long as it lasts, but for those who would like to feel that we are singing together, how about 4:00 pm Mudcat time? That would be about 9:00 pm in the UK, for example, I think? |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 01 Mar 13 - 02:55 PM I've just returned from a long road trip, tired but happy with the trip and happy to be in my own sweet, dear home. I am seeing this news and the news of Kat for the first time and I only wish I had wings that would fly me to the sides of those who are hurting and in need of healing. Nigel, all I can do at this moment is stretch imaginary arms around you and hold you and your wife and daughter and her family tight, with love flowing. You are such an inspiration and we have all grown through you. Kat, you know I am with you in healing love. I think it's time for a healing song circle. If folks here would like it, I'll start a thread and suggest a time (I'm thinking this Sunday, 3/3, at around 8 pm Mudcat time). I'll wait and see what some of you think before I take the plunge and start the thread. |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 01 Mar 13 - 08:06 AM The news about Kat is very worrying. I think Spaw's post is a clarion call to action. Everything positive that we can send her way in copious quantities. She has been most gracious & caring to Ann & myself over the last year, now it's our turn to send loving, healing thoughts to Kat. Maeve, Ann & I are holding you & your relative in our thoughts too. Much Love to You All, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: maeve Date: 28 Feb 13 - 10:26 PM Earlier, I quoted from this simple, lovely song: Round Our Skiff Round our skiff's be God's aboutness Ere she try the deeps of sea Sea-shell frail for all her stoutness Unless Thou her helmsman be Text: Trad. Hebrides Music: © 1984 Kathy Wonson Eddy "Kathy kindly sent me this song among many others a few years ago: she is a great source of liturgical choral music. I have sung it with our chorus and another smaller group, but Carol and I wanted to keep it in our repertoire, so here's a third way to sing it. Kathy lives in Randolph, Vermont."
