Remember how in the old novels someone is lying in bed surrounded by anxious loved ones or even just one lone haggard person at the bedside and then the fever breaks and the breathing quiets and there is a small sheen of sweat on the brow and the doctor turns and says, He has turned the corner. He will be all right.

And everyone falls to weeping tears of relief because they know that against heavy odds he has done it again.

The fever breaks, Spaw, and we are so relieved. Don't forget, Pat.

I know you are still watching this thread. I am glad you have taken a break from the situation, and I know your own health and well being is invested in how this comes out. We all care about you, and wish we had a friend who could try to bring positive energy and focus to us in a struggle like the one Pat is facing. Listen...you rest. You have done what you can. Let the rest of us pray, focus energy, channel light, and do what we can for our old friend. Believe me, if I could take a share of his pain, I would, just as I know you would. But that's not how this works. Ultimately, Pat will win or lose this fight. I feel he will win.
But win or lose, we need you around, Darlin. So please take care of yourself.

Ok Spaw, we have enough going on here with a wedding to plan ( 3 wks from set date to ceremony),and yesterday learned that my mother is most likely having mini-strokes. Our fingernails are chewed to the nubs. C'mon and get better! Sending prayers and warm wishes to Pat, Karen and the whole gang:)

The dramatic weight loss is to be expected. Vancomyacin or othe antibiotic should have things under controll in a couple days.
107 gave me some fantastic upside down flying sensations that I will never forget.

Now let's get serrious here... Kev McGrath tripped over the grim fellows scyth the other day, but his pals pounded him black and blue and brought him to his feet. Don't make the doctors pound on you, it makes them feel guilty about it latter, pounding a poor fellow on the cheast just because he ... well, don't do it, or we will be vexed as well as sad.

Here is a challenge I placed on Kev... a race between you and Kev to reach your hundredth birthday... lots of crunchy veggies... briskish accompanied walks... etc. I've joined both Team Spaw and Team Kev in this contest... so, drop the fever old boy and start the heavy breathing and low carbs...

Get well old boy, and back to blasphamy on line.

I ran a temperature of over 104 degrees once; it made me delirious. I can't even imagine hitting 107. But I do know that it means that Spaw's system is trying to chase out whatever is wrong.
