It's OK Ad. I don't even like mojitos THAT much. The coolers were a decent alternative to the 'beer'.

Jeri, I'll see if we can get your favorite drink. Mojitos is it?

Just back from the coffee house and the total collected was $250.00

I apologize for some of the old information still showing on the site, hopefully by this evening a lot of it will be cleaned up.

Will "The Lorax" be attending? If she could bring her note-pad and lure a few of the older crooners into one-on-one chats, she'd soon have enough ammo for a best-seller.

I would just like to say that everyone listed at the event is exceptionally good, bringing a variety that's worthy of a major Festival without the high gate prices and designer coffee...

now Ad., just bring some sunshine back from the Gulf Coast, and we'll be set.....

Adrien: I'm with everyone else on this site that is commending you for the line-up at Apple Hollow MusicFest. That is going to to be one fine show and Pat and I look forward to being part of it. As an exPat Montrealer...seeing this collection of some of the most creative and vibrant members of the folk music community of Montreal....Ron Bankley, Penny Lang, Bruce Murdoch, Willie Dunn, Jesse Winchester.....what a day and evening that will be. Looking forward to seeing that crazy brother (Norman) of yours again, as well.....

Looks like a great weekend.

Thanks Folks.
You can now go to the new look Web Site and have a look. There is still more to be added but after talking with the Web master this morning he was able to get a few things done. The schedule will remain pretty much as seen.

Our Coffee House went just great last night. Excellent crowd and the donations at the door was terrific. Close to $250.00   I believe this was due to the fact that the donations go to local school children in need of a little extra nourishment. Next month's collection will go to a local organization that transports those in need of cancer treatment to Montreal which is about an hour away form this community.
Sorry about the web site not being up as yet. Soon I hope.
Adrien

That's ok, Adrien. You are correct- We're reviving a small, long-neglected farm. Being away means there's no one to harvest and sell trees, perennials, and produce. And I'd rather say "no" and then find I can get there after all than promising to attend and having to back out.

My small role here is to keep kicking the thread to the surface so my fellow musicians remember The Apple Valley Music Fest is July 17-18, 2009. I'll be quiet now.

Did Mick mean 'virtually', or was it 'virally'? I wonder.

I hope somebody tells me what I'm doin' soon so I can start plottin... er, planning. Then again, it's still over 5 months from now.

Hey--I actually got one of them little GPS nav things. I can get celebrity voices for it too. The apartment wasn't too hard to find last year though, and April found the festival just fine. The only problem I had was finding 401 from Ormstown, and I couldn't get on a computer to check.

(Hey Ad, see if the folks running the booze booth can get some Mojitos instead of the vodka thingies. Then again, after the first few gulps, you couldn't taste them.)

Be good to see you for the first time Mick.

Bobad, Maeve has a farming problem right at the time of the Festival. That is her main reason for holding back. Hope you don't mind me mentioning this Maeve.

I don't know if I mentioned this to you or not, but Willie is very excited about meeting up with you again. I could tell when I was speaking to him that he really meant it.

a lot of my work is in the gratification of seeing these old geezers coming together. Our group of Folkies lived in a very special time and more reason for bringing us together.Right????

"I think I might have dropped a toonie in the dirt where the CD table was last year."

Likely story . . . .

I lost a gold ring. Can't recall much about its appearance, but ya know, if ya find one just send it my way. I'll find a good home for it.

Sorry frogprince but I missed your post Thanks to my buddy for pointing this out to me.

I don't know how your getting the information as our site is temporally down (backdoor I guess.) until most of the information for this year is dowloaded into the system. This take a bit of time as it is all volunteer work and there is a lot to do. The camping question I will send you a p.m. on this and anyone else who wants to camp as well.

I purchased a new Metal Detector just before the festival thinking I would have lots of time to use it afterwords and damn but if the snow didn't start falling when I remembered that I hadn't even taken it out once. Maybe this summer.

I feel stoopid asking this, but: I see the site says no charge for camping; but I've been looking and looking, and I can't find any reference to an admission charge, either. Am I dreaming, or ??.

(Or maybe there's no other food available around there, and hot dogs are $10.00 each..)

heard last night that Keith Urban's new CD is called 'Defying Gravity' from a song on it... I wonder if it's Jesse's?

I Googled Keith Urban Defying Gravity and came up with a lot of hits that said "defying gravity" was a line from one of his songs. No mention that it was the title of a song or of Jesse Winchester.

Still, a lot of country people have done Jesse Winchester songs, so who knows?

By the way, with all these old geezers and their hip replacements.....you're not planning on having any metal detectors on site, are you?
