Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Blissfully Ignorant Date: 26 Nov 04 - 08:47 PM I like sugary, high caffiene, unhealthy things...so you can imagine how excited i was when Red Bull appeared on the market. I like it, even the taste. A word of warning, though- do not, under any circumstances, allow children anywhere near the stuff. It turns them into raging hyperactive demons faster than you can say 'sugar rush'... |
Subject: Ouch From: GUEST Date: 26 Nov 04 - 08:31 PM Well GUEST,k -- I seriously think you should try XS, if you are interested, please let me know. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,k Date: 27 Oct 04 - 09:20 PM I had my first energy drink the other night - a can of rockstar - 30 minutes later I passed out, stopped breathing, went into full body convulstions/seizure, puked, came to and luckily walked away otherwise unharmed but extremely freaked out by the experience. Those who witnessed it called 911. I would caution against consuming these types of beverages! |

I have had Red Bull many of times, it taste gross and it gets your heart pumping so fast. It may be ideal for you, however XS actually is good for you and it gives you energy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,SG Date: 06 Oct 04 - 11:10 AM no xs sucks so stop trying to advertise it! red bull is ideal for me when i have to sit in front of a computer screen typing away for 4 hours non-stop.. keeps me awake and it also relaxes my food intake.. don't feel so hungry after i drink it which is a plus!! :) |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST Date: 05 Oct 04 - 01:38 AM Ever tried XS? It comes in 7 different flavors and it actually taste pretty good. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,Kathy Date: 04 Oct 04 - 02:02 PM I have tried Red Bull and I like it. I bought it this weekend and drank one 30 minutes before I did my treadmill work out. It boosted my endurance level. I drank one this morning along with breakfast before going to work. Here it is the afternoon and I still feel energized. I bought a case (24 cans) of Red Bull for $31.00 at a BJ store. It comes out to $1.30 a can. I think it is a good investment. I would drink no more than 1 to 2 cans a day. It gave me a great energy boost. |

Yes it does give you energy, however it gives this amazing high, but when all that energy runs out it drains you and the lower is terrible... Give me your address and I will send you 3 XS drinks to try for free... My email address is GregGorsuch@cox.net Have a good day Greg Gorsuch |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,crystal Date: 09 Sep 04 - 09:55 AM Hey....I think Red Bull is awesome. I have fibromyalgia and have had no energy, just felt like sleeping all of the time. I started drinking this last week. I can tell a huge difference. It has vitamin B12 and vitamin B6. And that's exactly what it tastes like, the liquid vitamin B12 sublingual. It is very expensive, but if it works thats all I care about. Don't knock it til you try it!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: sledge Date: 08 Sep 04 - 05:57 AM There is a diet/suger free type of redbull available now, had it a few times, bit less of a buzz and the taste is not so overpowering. Sledge |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Whizz Date: 07 Sep 04 - 09:35 AM I had Red Bull once. Smelt and tasted disgusting, but I was bouncing off the ceiling for the rest of the night! Never again though. Foul stuff. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST Date: 07 Sep 04 - 01:06 AM I have had this drink many of times... The last time I had it, my heart started racing so fast and I had a hard time breathing... I really depend on energy drinks throughout my daily routine, so I had to find something to keep my energy level up, so one day I met this new guy at work and he introduced me to this energy drink called XS, I thought it was going to be like Red Bull, but I was way wrong. For the last 6 months I have been drinking it, it tastes great, there are 6 differnt flavors and it gives you that stable burst of energy that you are looking for. If you want to know more about it, or how to get it, please email me at GregGorsuch@cox.net. When you email me please put XS in the subject line so I don't accidently delete it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Maryrrf Date: 27 Aug 04 - 09:00 PM I started this thread (took me awhile to realize it had been revived). I tried Red Bull and it was okay but I haven't bought anymore. I do now keep a couple of cans in the car for when I'm driving home late at night and get sleepy. I figure it can't hurt. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,rhshopper Date: 27 Aug 04 - 12:32 AM i tried it and it tastes like sugar i drink it to take the place of the excedrin that i was hooked on to give me the caffeine lift.but i i feel dizzy and weird after i drink it,sometimes i get scared to finish it thinking it will make my headaches worse. |

Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,niftygeek Date: 17 Aug 04 - 05:14 PM Energy Drinks ... with ingredients listed and explained. Red Bull included. Some of the more common components of energy drinks are not only Ginseng (panax or siberian), but taurine, guarana, and ginkgo baloba (though the ginkgo is reputedly used only for the heightened awareness - which is not medically proven). |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,Mingulay Date: 22 Jul 04 - 07:29 AM Red Bull - nasty tasting stuff - so full of sugar it does very strange things to poor diabetics like me. Tried it once, head still buzzing some years later. Oh! sorry that's just the noise of the one remaining brain cell trying to escape via left earhole. Who needs energy when you can be a couch potato, and if even that's too tiring why not become a couch crisp. Someone stop me please I'm rambling agaiiiiiiiiin. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST Date: 21 Jul 04 - 09:44 PM i heard that if you mix redbull with panax ginseng, it gives u an extreme energy boost.... im aprehensive to try it but i was wondering if anyone has. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Donuel Date: 12 Jul 04 - 09:19 PM Yohimbe root is what you may be looking for. It gave me a robust alertness with no jitters and no adverse side effects... except the herbal taste. I could read all night long afterwards. As long as I caught up on sleep it did give me energy. I only used it serval times so I have no idea what abouse would do. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Maryrrf Date: 12 Jul 04 - 08:13 PM If caffeine really kills I should be dead by now. I love coffee, always have, and it doesn't make me hyper. Think I'll go have a cup now! |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Georgiansilver Date: 12 Jul 04 - 07:52 PM Considering that caffeine is on the UK list of hazardous materials as a killer....if 1gram is consumed(ie consumed in large dose) and that a half gram can cause severe mental problems..I think I'll give Red Bull a miss...thanks all the same. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: GUEST,L Bray Date: 12 Jul 04 - 03:39 PM I have been drinking Red Bull for 2 years and i thought it was wonderful... It does give you a boost but to name but a few it also rots your teeth (sugar content!) Because it is a stimulant its good but only in short bursts. I have recently suffered from migraines as a result and now i don't touch it... Its everyone's personal opnion but personally if u need energy drink water, get 8 hours sleep and take regular exercise. The short term is never an answer. RED BULL IS THE DRINK OF THE DEVIL!!!! Having been in hospital as a result, be warned |

Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Sweetfia Date: 08 Jul 04 - 05:18 AM Personally I love the stuff. It tastes great (better with Vodka) and it does give me energy. I remember when my G.C.S.E's were on, i was having up to 7 coffee's a day (I was 15) and then when my exams finished i had no reason to be up all hours of the night so i decided (or was told rather) to quit cold turkey....owww! I had headaches for weeks, they even effected my eye-sight. Now i just have one in the morning, and MAYBE one in the afternoon. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: LilyFestre Date: 07 Jul 04 - 01:37 PM I can't say as I've ever tried this stuff although I have seen it in many places. Personally, I like ONE cup of coffee a day just because I like it. I don't get headaches or cranky without it, I just enjoy having a cup of coffee in the morning...especially if I'm driving or doing desk work....a personal comfort if you will. On occassion, I have been known to drink up to 3 or 4 cups of coffee but that is only when I MUST get something done and can't afford the sleep. I avoid those occassions at all costs. Is Red Bull carbonated? From what I have read here, it sounds horrible....but then again, I don't like soda or anything else that's carbonated...including champagne. Michelle |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: mike the knife Date: 07 Jul 04 - 01:08 PM Ingested a fair amount in Europe circa 1994 when working as a tour guide. Late nights/early mornings, innummerable silly questions to answer, etc. It kept me semi fit between stops for a coffee/tea. As for the Taurine, I understand the source is man-made/synthesized & therefore veg-friendly. In the bar I work in, we get orders for a "cockblock" (Red Bull & Jaegermeister) all of the time. I tell them to order a Guinness & sit down & enjoy the music & behave themselves- we don't serve that crap. I've seen people babble/shout drunken jibberish after a few rounds of vodka & red bull. It helps I guess if you need to drink & stay up late & don't wan't the hassle of cocaine. |

Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: okthen Date: 07 Jul 04 - 12:03 AM The first people to market this in the UK lived next door to me, their Gardiner had a constant supply of new T-Shirts, My kids never got one, guess what, the "inventor" , suddenly developed a heart condition which meant he had to give up marketing the stuff. I know for a fact the heart condition was genuine, the "fact" that his heart "grew" a totally new valve to replace the one which had become blocked I find a little harder to beleive! |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: wysiwyg Date: 06 Jul 04 - 10:27 AM RANT ON: I run into people on a daily basis who are pumping themselves up with coffee or energy drinks or ginseng or whatever new crap is being marketed, and let me tell you, it is damn annoying! They babble like the newsreaders at 100 mph and there is more verbiage than thinking and reflecting going on. I wish people would just chill the hell out, because it's chaotic to be run over by someone who hit the ground running. I don't care to join them in their self-inflicted crisis mode-- it's crazy-making, not functional. And who do you think they call for peace and calm , when they hit the wall????? CHILL!!!! ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Maryrrf Date: 06 Jul 04 - 09:32 AM I think it's more a matter of building up a tolerance. Everybody in my family drank coffee, all day long. We kids were served coffee routinely from about the time we were eight or nine for breakfast and again at dinner. Of course they didn't allow it at school so we didn't have any at lunch. Now I CANNOT manage without coffee in the morning, and I have to have it by around 11:00 am at the latest or I get a splitting headache that lasts all day. I used to drink 10 cups a day but have cut back to six maximum. And now I mostly limit my coffee consumption to mornings. However, I am still able to drink a couple of cups of expresso before bedtime and then get a good night's sleep. I guess I should wean myself off all this caffeine but I really don't have any other vices and I do love my coffee! I despise decaf and won't touch it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 06 Jul 04 - 08:02 AM Jeez Maryrrf, you must have the constitution of a horse! SIX COFFEES IN ONE MORNING??? I was hospitalised after drinking six in a day, due to the heart-palpitations it caused. Are you a tough guy, or am I a wimp? Don't answer that - I think I know! :0) LMAO! Johnny :0) |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Maryrrf Date: 05 Jul 04 - 10:44 PM Well, I drank a can of Red Bull this morning. I didn't especially like it but it wasn't horrible, either. I drank it after my usual three cups of strong coffee (I drink three to six cups of coffee every morning - three being the minimum). I did notice that I felt quite lively. However, it may be due to the fact that today was a holiday and I slept later than normal. Anyway, my curiosity is satisfied. I think it would be useful, as some have pointed out, to take along in the car to avoid drowsiness when driving and no coffee is available. It might also come in handy to keep in reserve for caffeine addicts like me who get a splitting headache if some unforseen even prevents them from getting their usual dose of morning coffee. |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Liz the Squeak Date: 03 Jul 04 - 08:19 PM Had some with vodka once... everyone else was falling about, me, not a twitch. The biggest problem is that if you drink it as a mixer and get very drunk, the caffeine in it just makes sure you are wide awake to enjoy every minute of your hangover! Oh, and it's not too good for migraine sufferers either! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 03 Jul 04 - 06:30 AM I've never tried it, but judging from the number of empty cans defacing the landscape it doesn't give the drinker enough energy to take the empties home for disposal. RtS (grumpy old man) |

Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Mr Red Date: 02 Jul 04 - 03:35 PM I read somewhere that the name Red Bull comes from Taurine - Taurus the Bull in Greek Mythology and the Star constellation and the Astrology thingy. So I guess it would do nothing for me as a Virgo. They do a lot of motor sports sponsorship - Lucazade sponsor athletes/athletic events - what are they trying to tell us? |

Subject: RE: BS: Red Bull Energy Drink - Anybody tried it From: Maryrrf Date: 02 Jul 04 - 10:05 AM I did read that the "taurine" thing that's in it isn't actually of animal origin. It's supposed to be some kind of amino acid or something but it's synthetic. |
