Various other people started with the bagpipes, but the only the Scots have taken them worldwide, turned them into a weapon, and occasionally found a proper use for them.

And unless you've also danced Bonnie Anne to them in a Basque barracca (or something like that, I don't speak basque) court, don't argue too much...

True LTS. Although I think it was done to annoy the English rather than to be funny.

Oh come on, the Scots do have humour.. who else could have marketed the bagpipe as a musical instrument?! Or the Haggis as a food product??

Do you mean Colander?

Brings to mind my mothers' phrase for when 3 children wouldn't sit still... 'you're like a fart in a colander - can't decide which hole to get out of!'

Could it be sasspirilla?

Although I did get very friendly with one called Cholmondely (pronounced Chumley) in Auckland zoo about 20 years ago... I wonder if he remembers me...... *sigh*...

reminds me of an underground rock group singing ...

Wom-bats, wom-bats, in our house, in our house ...

Over and over and over again. It was kind of hypnotic in an odd way.
