Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: Bobert Date: 04 Jul 04 - 08:05 PM Well, Dougie, this is a no brainer. If you went out an' bought you a big ol' gas guzzling SUV an' got that big Bush/Cheney tax break for doing so, you'd know where he's hiding it... In yer danged 30 gallon tank, that's where... Hey, after these road pigs back away from the trough, there ain't much left to hide. But don't fret, they'll be more tomorrow and even more pigs to consume it... Yeah, I'd like to glimpse into Cheney's notes on this absolutely screwed up Energy Policy. Sho nuff I would. Looks to me like it is based around a goal of burneing up the last drop of oil before the batteries in Cheney's pace-maker give out... I mean, gol danged, Dougie! You can come up with some purdy danged screwy questions... Sho' nuff you can... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: GUEST,peedeecee Date: 04 Jul 04 - 07:20 PM No one ever said, AFAIK, that Bush "wanted the oil." Many people said that Bush "wanted control of the oil." There is a pertinent distinction there, and obviously Bush and his cabal now either have control of the oil openly, or secretly, or have deals in place. |

Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: beardedbruce Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:39 PM alternative? I don't think there is/was one. I just am happy we will not be the ones in charge when the rioting starts. I HOPE that our troops will be able to get out before then, but I doubt it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: DougR Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:35 PM Well, bb, what was the alternative? Continued governing? I don't think so. DougR |
Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: beardedbruce Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:33 PM Actually, the problem will be when we stop giving them subsidized gasoline. The existing refinary capability will not allow the new government to keep the prices at this artificially low level, and the economy will not allow the price to rise without major repercussions. Sure am glad we gave them soverignty... |
Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: Amos Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:30 PM Personally I don't think it had anything to do with stealing Iraqi oil. It certainly has had the fringe benefit of invalidatig all the French oil contracts, which were written between Elf Aquitaine and the Baath government under Sadddam. Those same contracts for delivery of oil are, I assume, now favoring supply to US oil comapnies. I don't know that for a fact though. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: beardedbruce Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:24 PM Hey, don't forget that the US is buying gasoline in the surrounding region for about $1.60 US a gallon, and transporting it into Iraq where we sell it to the civilian population for about $0.05 US a gallon. Sounds like we are getting a lot of oil out of them... |
Subject: BS: Where is Bush hiding the oil? From: DougR Date: 04 Jul 04 - 03:20 PM Since so many of you are convinced that the reason Bush/Blair and company invaded Iraq to steal Iraqi oil, where are they hiding it? It's certainly not where Saddam hid the WPM is it? DougR |
